Horrible for audio
Revisado: 05-19-24
I love this series so buying the next audio book was a no brainer. I wish I would have looked more closely at the content. Sections that focus on definitions or descriptions of people (this is a lot) are horrible to listen to and I ended up skipping through big sections. The only new narrative were spicy scenes just for this book that didn’t relate to anything and seemed to just be thrown in there to give it something new. The book has interesting content so I wouldn’t want to skip it but would definitely say go get the kindle version.

Historia
After a startling betrayal ends with both Sera and the dangerously seductive ruler of the Shadowlands she has fallen madly in love with being held captive by the false King of the Gods, there is only one thing that can free Nyktos and prevent the forces of the Shadowlands from invading Dalos and igniting a War of Primals. Convincing Kolis won’t be easy, though–not even with a lifetime of training.

Love the story but so much filled
Revisado: 11-22-23
The book could have been 1/4 shorter without all of the internal monologue and dragging out of scenes. There were parts where I either skipped ahead or went to the book and skimmed it to figure out where story started again. I love this series but am not sure I will do the next audio version. At least with the books I can easily skim ahead and find where it moves along with less likelihood of missing something.
I think this problem exists in all of her books in this universe which is frustrating since the stories are great. It’s just hard not to yell at the audio to tell her to stop “talking”

Once upon a time, my world was small and sheltered. Everything changed the moment I stepped over my Safety Line, barrelling towards a coupling with a man I hardly know. He wants me. All of me. Dunked in a charged political pit, I must secure the ships needed to quell the spill of murderous beasts still flooding the continent. But one wrong move could spur the war I’ve worked so hard to avoid.

I smell him on this key, this shirt, this leaf…
Revisado: 09-15-23
I haven’t disliked a character this much in a long time but the whiney, stupid and ungrowing MFC is painful. The world building is really good and interesting and I really want to know how the story ends but I had to fast forward through so much of this book I probably missed something.
I am not sure if it is the narrator being overly dramatic or the book really being this annoying but having the MFC drone on and on every 10 minutes about smelling him was painful. I huff on this pillowcase he touched once, oh now I smell him from afar on this key, now it’s a small leaf a half mile away underwater and I know I smell him. If you can’t tell, I really hate this character. And it’s in the first two books and so far the start of the third.
She just doesn’t grow at all and waffles between I can do what I want and not think about the consequences and then just so much stereotypical female character guilt. I don’t get how anyone wants to be around her for any amount of time at all.
All that said I have bought the third book already before I realized how stupid this character was so I’m going to try to power through to find out what happens. I just plan on fast forwarding through all of the angst and whining and smelling. So will probably shave a couple hours off the time (I am not exaggerating my estimate).
If you can make your way through the constant pining and whining and unbelievable amount of tween level angst then the story itself is interesting and the world building is good. The book could have just been a couple hours shorter without all of the melodrama.

Doctorate achieved! Now time to pay off my mandatory service obligation to the government. The same government that may, or may not, be trying to occasionally kill me. But hey a job is a good thing, right?I didn't expect it to be all rainbows and sprinkles, but neither did I envision being thrown in with a training group of misfits and potential criminals. How did I end up having to make decisions to let someone die, or try to prevent it, when keeping them alive is breaking the law?

Another fun listen!
Revisado: 05-27-23
I love this series and the adventures of Corey (not sure if I spelled that right), her familiar and family. The stories have interesting mysteries with some fun relationships without being overly intense or serious. Sometimes I want something that will pull me in without being too heavy and this series does that well

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

Overly dramatic reading but great story
Revisado: 05-23-23
The narrator made it hard to get through this book and I had to skip through some sections because her overly dramatic reading was just painful to listen to. I am going to read the books next to get to what I missed. If I never have to hear the word ether again it will be too soon.
I have listened to this narrator for other books and she is just as over the top dramatic there. I don’t get how she keeps getting work without toning it down. When she isn’t doing her weird dramatic, raspy voice she is pretty good. But man, it’s just hard to get past it in this book.

Blatantly relentless and twice as deadly, Greyson rules the pack and expands its territory, even though it’s already the largest in the region. I just wish he’d stop interfering with my life. He’s got enough trouble of his own with his incomplete mate bond, but he’s made it his hobby to tease and test me at every opportunity.

Magiford is my favorite universe
Revisado: 04-09-23
I am always pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to loose time while listening or reading any entries in the Magiford universe. Love Pip and the whole wolf pack and the story really hooked me from the start. Read the books and then listened to the audio. Added a new spin to the series to hear the great narration for the story

Cute easy listen
Revisado: 03-10-23
The story was cute and light and something good to listen to when out for a walk. I liked that even thought the FMC had experienced a pretty horrible break up she didn’t spend large chunks of the book focused on dramatic reactions. The character didn’t let it get in her way and she made the best out of the situation. I enjoyed the listen.

Historia
Bree was hoping for a few days off from dealing with monsters, bad guys, or general weirdness that doesn’t fit into a human box of what is supposed to be real. What she got was a stay in the hospital with an undead roommate and a whole new set of problems that keep rising from the grave. But her love life is at least on track. Until it’s not. And when it goes sideways, it jumps straight into the drink and sinks to the bottom. Now, Bree has to put her heart on the back burner as she is offered a major job hunting down the very person causing all the undead to rise.

In the end Bree just seems pathetic
Revisado: 07-29-21
I get building tension and the realities of tough relationships, but I think the author lost me at this point. How long can she drag out the relationship or not relationship with Crash. It’s exhausting and I ended up not making it through the whole book. It seems like the goal of each installment is to leave you needing to buy the next book to get any closure. Then when it seems like things are moving forward, oops here is another stupid misunderstanding to set things back again.
At this point I wish I never started the series because where I am leaving just feels unsatisfying and like a waste of my time and money. The characters don’t really grow, you never know if anyone is being honest, and Bree has turned everything into oh do I want him, or wait maybe I want him, oh wait again, maybe I don’t want anyone. The author took a promising series and just turned the character into some that seems a little pathetic.

Historia
When a god wants you dead, it’s safe to assume life can’t get any worse. Wrong. I’m enemy number-one to a powerful fae and I’ve ticked off the Master of the vampires one too many times. Life - or rather, death - is coming at me fast. I definitely didn’t expect a demon placing a bounty on me to be added to the what-the-hell-else-could-go-wrong Bingo card. Adding to my problems, the two men in my life are pushing me to make a choice that could not only cost me a friendship, but a valued ally.

Like the story but annoyed by constant cliffhangers
Revisado: 07-14-21
I like the storyline and characters in this series. It’s entertaining and easy listening with a great narrator. That said there are a couple of things that diminish my enjoyment of the series.
The fist is the constant cliffhangers. I get leaving things open for the next book in the series, but there is nothing satisfying at the end of each book. It’s almost like there the conflict that takes up most of the book, that conflict then suddenly gets resolved towards the end, and then bam new conflict and book over. It is enough to make me not want to read the next book even though I enjoy the series.
The second is Elizabeth whose is written as so over the top I don’t want to listen to parts where she is the one talking. Her attitude is needed, but it is so over the top and melodramatic that it is unpleasant to listen to her diatribes. Like I said, I like the series, but I hate hearing her self righteous, drawn out and overly dramatic speeches. Especially in this book since it was the focus of the ending.
I have never bailed on a series where I liked almost all the characters as much as I do here, but these two things might make this my first time in not buying the next book.

I wouldn’t say my life is a dumpster fire — but it’s far from typical. I’m frenemies with the local werewolves’ Alpha, my clients are shady as hell, and my magic falls firmly in the WTF category. Mephisto, my mysterious and powerful client, is more interested in my magic than the jobs he’s hired me for. And I’m pretty sure my court-ordered therapist thinks I’m an ass.

Good but repetitive
Revisado: 07-09-21
Good story and world building. Liked the characters and relationships built through this first book. The only thing that was annoying was the constant description of her longing for magic. After the first few times I started skipping ahead to get past the drawn out descriptions. I know it was an important part of the character development, but midway through I kept finding myself thinking yeah we get it, the magic is compelling, you want it and it’s hard to control, stop whining about it.
That said, since I could skip past those parts I overall really enjoyed the story so far.
