Right off the bat, I was disheartened to discover that the story was a series of books. I really liked the story and will be consuming the other books in this series. I follow the Gardinarian path and call myself a witch. I was happy to see that the author did not refer to the male witch as a warlock. The word "warlock" has a dirogitory meaning in the Pagan/Wiccan community. Back in the day a warlock was an oath breaker. In the middle age, you were either rich or poor. The vast majority of people were poor. The most valuable thing you had was your honor. Breaking you oath to another or group was devastating. Having a bad mark and loosing ones honor blacked the family name so you not only blackend your name but also family members. No one would trust you and finding emplyment was difficult. If you were a merchant or farmer, there was difficulty in selling your wares or produce. If you were to make a sell it had to be done incognito, so to speak and at fire sell prices. Calling someone a warlock was a life long sentance. Moving away from the community was your only recourse. Few had the means to alleviate this issue and if they were able to relocate, it follwed them. Having the author get it right about male witches not being called warlocks was huge in my opinion.

Awakening of an Ethnobotanist

I really enjoyed this book because it opened my eyes to the plight of many amazonian tribes. The knowledge of all the plant diversity and their medicinal properties that could never be compiled in a lifetime. Many tribal shaman of differing tribes may use the same plant or herb for different purposes. This story outlines one man's journey and adventure as an Ethnobotanist to chronological, examin and record the practice of several shaman of the Amazon and how their knowledge of the jungle is disappearing. As he stated, the loss of a shaman is like the burning of a great library. That wisdom and knowledge is gone forever never to be seen, felt or heard from again. Personally, I am deeply grateful for what he has done and is doing to protect and safeguard it for further generations.

A Vampire for all Times.

I really enjoyed this novel. It had all the right parts. The narrator has a timeless voice and my favorite part was the last chapter and the conclusion.

Loved the book. I enjoyed the overarching theme which seemed to me that no matter who you are, your background or upbringing, you can over come your human foibles. it helps having someone who believes in you and if your terminally boring as an in individual, it's your own fault. Start there

After you have completed listening to this addition of The Black Dagger Brotherhood you will begin to understand the title. My favorite moment was seeing the return of the Scibe Virgin and discovering that a main character in her(J.R. Ward's) fallen angel series has appeared in this book with a boom so to speak and sinister plans.

Im not generally a fan of romance, however, the author has again worked her magic and woven an exciting tale of human/vampire believability. Its is an enjoyable listen. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys her work.

great story as usual but I wish that the Black Dagger Brotherhood was more involved in the storyline. Wrath makes a cameo appearance at the end.
