Historia
When a mysterious note referencing a top-secret US operation is tossed over the wall of the embassy in Nicaragua, Nathan McBride and his old pal Harv are called out of retirement by CIA Director Rebecca Cantrell and sent to Central America. Cantrell wants the situation resolved quickly and knows that Nathan is the man to do it; after all, he has a history with the place. The jungle he and Harv are about to land in is the same one that Nathan barely escaped with his life decades before, an ordeal that left him physically and psychologically scarred.

Can't wait for the next Nathan McBride!
Revisado: 06-06-14
What made the experience of listening to Ready to Kill the most enjoyable?
It's a toss up between the author and the narrator! I've listened to all of the Nathan McBride novels. Andrew Peterson is a very talented author. His characters are interesting and the action is well thoughtout and described. The relationships between the characters definitely win me over as well - very believable!
And then there is Dick Hill. I will listen to ANYTHING that he narrates - his narrating abilities are stellar! He makes each character truly come alive, his timing is phenomenal, his accents are well done. No one else could be the voice of Nathan. Or Harv. Or even Holly.

Historia
Ex-CIA master assassin Court Gentry has always prided himself on his ability to disappear at will, to fly below the radar and exist in the shadows - to survive as the near-mythical Gray Man. But when he takes revenge upon a former employer who betrayed him, he exposes himself to something he’s never had to face before. A killer who is just like him. Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry.

Impressed with this author!
Revisado: 06-06-14
Would you listen to Dead Eye again? Why?
Absolutely I will listen to Dead Eye again. Each of Mark Greaney's books contain so much detail (but not boring detail!) that I want to listen again to make sure I have caught everything. The characters, the action, the plot - everything is worth a second or third listen!
What other book might you compare Dead Eye to and why?
I've seen the Gray Man compared to Jason Bourne and think that is an appropriate comparison as far as the character goes. If you like the Bourne series, there is a great chance you will love this series as well.
What about Jay Snyder’s performance did you like?
Jay Snyder kept me captivated throughout the book. I think his timing is impeccable. He knows when to be deadpan and when to "jazz up" his voice depending on the character and situation. I've not felt that he was over the top at any point in his narration. I will be seeking out more of his work!
Any additional comments?
I've listened to all four in this series and am absolutely hooked. If you haven't tried them but love spy novels or thrillers, give these a shot. Certainly start from the beginning though!

Historia
Touted as " the only unabridged library edition published," this 1877 classic presents an intriguing quest set deep in the dark coal mines of Scotland. A subterranean city struggles with fossil fuel depletion, tormenting highland spirits, threatening explosive gases, and a lurking, hidden evil presence. The old miner Simon Ford, his wife Madge and son Harry, along with the engineer James Starr, venture into the mysterious labyrinths and discover something much more than coal.

Good story, terrible narrator
Revisado: 11-28-10
Verne is my favorite author and I, without thinking, purchased this audiobook without listening to a sample of the narrator. I haven't found this story in print so I was excited to "read" it for the first time. Until I heard Noel Gibilaro's voice. He puts emphasis on random words in sentences rather than where one would normally place emphasis. On other words he enunciates each syllable and slooowly which annoyed me greatly. I recommend the story but if you can find another recording or perhaps the written work, I recommend you go that route instead.
