What an absolutely enjoyable book!

I do not normally write book reviews. I had to make an exception for Project Hail Mary.
I loved the Martian both book and movie so I thought I’d give this one a try. It griped me from the beginning. Andy Weir has a way of writing that is so expressive and interesting. Good science along with humor and interesting characters. It makes for an easy read and very satisfying. OK, there are some parts in the science and the situations that don’t always make sense but in general it’s easy to go along with the premise.
In this audiobook you also have the excellent narration provided by Ray Porter. He adds depth and character to the experience. I think he was absolutely perfect in his narration and added a lot to the story.
Bottom line is if you liked The Martian you will love this story too. Extremely enjoyable and satisfying.

Deon Meyer is the best. Great characters , well written and absorbing.
When you present such interesting prose with Simon Vance as the narrator the result is perfect. I can’t recommend this book enough, it is a great listen.

Typical James Lee Burke. Very well thought out and presented. Burke’s prose are at times so vivid and understandable that you feel you are standing amid the live oaks and sweltering heat. The contrasts between the characters are sometimes profound and at times just entertaining. Always enjoyable.

This was such a thuroughly enjoyable listen I did not want it to end. They story is interesting with good subplots and some unforeseen twists. The characters come alive with the skill of the narrator. Simon Vance has just the right pacing and his variety and depth of voices for each character really immerse you in the story. The unfamiliar names and places roll off his tongue with such ease and melody it is just a treat to listen.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. It is time well spent.
