Historia
It's no coincidence when Grace Elland finds a vodka bottle next to the lifeless body of her boss, motivational speaker Sprague Witherspoon. The bottle is a terrifying - and deliberate - reminder of the horrors of her past. Grace retreats to her hometown to regroup and tries to put everything she’s learned about positive thinking into practice - a process that is seriously challenged on the world’s worst blind date. Awkward doesn’t begin to describe her evening with venture-capitalist Julius Arkwright.

Hurrah,,, not the same old, same old!!
Revisado: 06-02-15
I'd been giving up on historical genre....too many copy cat plots and not many differences. Seems I was reading same book over and over with just some name. Changes ....all very predictable.
Dearest Rogue does have likenesses to most historical romances, but it offers some unexpected differences which kept me wondering on what was going to happen during twists and turns.
Also a story of a blind young woman and her protection guard did not sound that appealing, sister of a Duke and a commoner. No fancy balls or the Ton. No hidden pedigrees, nor riches to be found or reclaimed. The treasure was in the relationships and dialogue. Yes, there are three kidnappings but the ways resolved were heart warming and slightly different than the norm.
This is an unexpectedly good story keeping to many common themes though taking some interesting resolutions. It is an enjoyable, fun, well written story, worth time and credit
I did have some trouble with hero's voice, rushed ending which often occurs, along with too frequent stress of 12 year age difference, I could nit pick other things but bottom line ,,,,just relax, don't try to guess and just go for a happy listen

Historia
Judith Hampton was as beautiful as she was proud and loyal. Her dear Scottish friend from childhood was about to give birth, and Judith had promised to be at her side. But there was another reason for the journey from her bleak English home to the Highlands: to meet the father she had never known, the Laird Maclean. Nothing prepared her, however, for the sight of the Scottish barbarian who was to escort her into his land...Iain Maitland, laird of his clan, a man more powerfully compelling than any she had ever encountered.

Great and different
Revisado: 02-20-13
Would you listen to The Secret again? Why?
This was an excellent story, well read. I liked the way the heroine created change. ...no fighting just very smart questions, actions, observations which caused others to rethink positions...see in new ways.
This was a different approach and story line than most historical novels. .not same old, same old
It was also funny in places, plus showed true friendship between women
Simply put...it was delightful!

Ruthless might as well be Gray Bennett’s middle name. When the renowned Washington, D.C. insider talks, powerful people listen. But Gray hasn’t come home to Saranac Lake to play politics. Or play at all. A tragedy has shaken the unshakable Gray Bennett to his hardened core. And so has the most unlikely of women. The mousy redhead who used to run around the Moorehouse B and B - the one he never noticed - is now all fiery hair and lush curves. But sweet Joy Moorehouse is too innocent for a cynic like him.

DO NOT ORDER
Revisado: 05-31-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
First would need to hear complete book to determine any star ...incomplete it's a zero
How could the performance have been better?
A complete book ... though reader could also be improved
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
W/o a complete book, cannot say
Any additional comments?
Audible has only supplied 2/3 of the book then suddenly switches to another book. You are left hanging after listening to what might be a good book .... why wasn't this found before listing it...why hasn't it been taken off yet. All purchasers should get money back plus book credits
it is quite disconcerting as well as a waste of time to listen, get involved then suddenly hear an entirely different story and wonder what happened .... going back and forth trying to find the original book continuation.
I am extremely disappointed with Audible...very poor quality and customer service!!!!! I called and they were willing to refund purchase but said couldn't do anything else. Don'the t they realize aggravation in listening to part of a book then be left hanging. Finally plus question on how this happened, I was given a small $ credit but IMO anyone who bought this book in good faith and went thru the aggravation plus wasted time searching should get at least a free credit ..actually even two ... Believe me, it was very disturbing listening to a book while sick so as to occupy mind and wham...story disappears and I'm going back and forth trying to find the story with no luck
Well Audible, are you going to take this book off list and give fairer compensation to customers who were so put out?????

Revisado: 07-19-11
The combination of the Washington political scene, hunt for a vicious killer and developing personal relationships provides a multi level story which holds one's interest. It may be helpful to listen to the two preceding books since they provide background which supports this book...or consider just the last one Fatal Justice as a start. Each book adds to the richness and complexity of the main characters ...and each gets better and better.

Historia
Once Olympia Wingfield had been free to devote all her time to her true passion: the study of ancient legends and long-lost treasure. But now, with three hellion nephews to raise, the absentminded beauty has very little time for research. Which makes it seem all the more serendipitous when a handsome stranger strides into Olympia’s library unannounced and proceeds to set her world to rights.

Delightful!
Revisado: 06-05-10
Best of the new Quick books IMO. I like Regency though tire of oft repeated plots. This takes a different slant and not always predictable. It's fascinating to hear the developing relationships of all the characters especially the interchanges between the two leads, starting from the introduction of the "tutor" into a madcap household. Both main characters are quite unique and balance each other very well as does the storyline. Definitely fun for summer read ...or anytime.

Good Summer Listen
Revisado: 04-30-10
Amanda Quick is light listening yet has enough new twists to hold interest. It's certainly different to have a crime lord as the hero. The two key figures are well matched. As to narrator, I guess it's the old analogy of I say toe-may-toe and you say toe-mah-toe. I like Anne Flosnick and she seems suited for this type of story.

Terrible
Revisado: 04-20-10
The reading ruins this book. I have tried several times to listen and the break neck fast speed doesn't permit one to "get into" the story. Although the reader has a lovely base voice, she unfortunately moves between monotone and sing song and always as if there is a race against time to get as much said as quickly as possible. I usually like the author but the reading has made this choice a complete waste of a credit.

Good yet disappointing
Revisado: 05-05-09
3 1/2 star. Usually a writer improves with each novel. Ms. Snyder appears to be doing the opposite. Her first book, the award winning Poison Study is superb and the best of all she's written. The other two Study books are entertaining and tie things together. Now Ms Snyder focuses on a character from the first series. The heroine is called a one trick magician and for now, it seems to be somewhat fitting in comparison to the multi-dimensional skills of her first heroine. There are far too many characters in this new series and is confusing for the thread seems to stop and another starts. It is to be hoped that future books weave threads together and provide a hero as in Poison Study. I had additional difficulty with the narrator. Usually quite good, she does not measure up in this book. I guess I was spoiled by Poison Study ... be sure to ready that series first.
