Historia
After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year, but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

Boring and repetitive.
Revisado: 07-03-23
The technology associated with the performance didn’t make it a better story. I liked the series but grew weary of the tiring narrative and the cyclical overarching story line. But the characters were interesting and the humor kept it interesting. However I think I’m done with this volume and I’m looking for something else to read or listen to.

Historia
December 7, 1941 - America is attacked by the Japanese and dragged into a worldwide struggle for power unlike anything ever seen on Earth. While the United States and the Navy reel from the devastation of Pearl Harbor, the Nazis begin a brutal campaign within sight of the shores of the nation. U-boats prowl the American coast from Maine to the Gulf of Mexico, sinking shipping seemingly unopposed!

The accents used in narration border on racism.
Revisado: 08-22-22
The story is interesting but the colloquial American accents and pathetic German accents are so distracting that it’s hard to follow and would be embarrassing to have overheard. It’s like Sergeant Schultz and General Burkhalter from Hogans Heroes are narrating. If the Road Runner cartoon had dialog, this is what it would be like.

Tedious musical interludes. Good story.
Revisado: 02-29-20
Interesting story full of details and context. Unfortunately it contains these painful attempts to inject musical phrases between narrative and between chapters. And they seem to get more frequent towards the end.

I suppose there is a genre for those that just like people beating each other up. I had bought two of these in a series. I switched off one after fifteen minutes and tried the second. They were pretty much the same - immediately fist to fist violent with no discernible plot. Maybe it’s for some but not for me.

Humanity is losing the war. The once-mighty space navies have been crippled, officers and crew have been stretched to the limit and Earth herself has come under heavy attack. The end cannot be long delayed. For Admiral Smith and the crew of HMS Ark Royal, the stakes have never been so high. The one hope is to make contact with alien factions that might oppose the war.

Good conclusion to an interesting military sci fi story
Revisado: 08-28-15
All three books were interesting and enjoyable. The narration was especially good. It seems humanity's future is dark, though. Those darn reporters and aristocrats are the bane of us.

Historia
Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

Terrific story told with historical accuracy
Revisado: 05-06-15
It is easy to forget all the twists and turns of WWII. Especially (for me) the degree to which the U.S. government supplied the Soviet Union equipment through the Lend Lease program.
