Historia
A movie director is charged with murdering an actress during sex, and then staging her death to make it look like a suicide. In a seemingly unrelated case, a loner is murdered, leaving the sheriff's department with no clues. One unsettling revelation after another leaves a retired FBI agent and an L.A. detective thinking they've unmasked a most frightening killer with almost inconceivable calculation.

Like listening to a grandfather read a story
Revisado: 02-04-16
Would you try another book from Michael Connelly and/or Richard M. Davidson?
I really enjoy Michael Connelly books. The Harry Bosch series is phenomenal. However, the narrator made the story very boring. In previous books, I always felt the narrator was acting out the story and made it very interesting. Mr. Davidson sounds like he's reading a story to one of his grandchildren. I increased the speed just so I could speed up his voice.
What was most disappointing about Michael Connelly’s story?
I've listened to all the Harry Bosch stories before this one. I have to say that while the others were quite intriguing, this story was pretty noneventful. I don't know. Maybe the narrator just made it seem that way, but I wasn't as intrigued with this one. I just wanted it to hurry up and be over.
How could the performance have been better?
A different narrator. He would have done much better by acting out the story instead of just reading it.

Incredible!

This was an amazing book! Kept me on the edge of my seat. Listened to it every day during my commute. The narrator was awesome. I'm now going to look for other books by the same author.

Great book!
Revisado: 10-16-15
Would you listen to Deliver Us again? Why?
Probably not. Not because it wasn't a great book, but I really don't usually go back and read/listen to books twice.
What other book might you compare Deliver Us to and why?
Not sure.
Which scene was your favorite?
The heartbreaking accounts of what the families were going through once their daughters went missing was very well written and researched.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
All of it.
Any additional comments?
Ok. So here is my only complaint. Tanya Eby did a great job with the narration, EXCEPT when she would go into a man's voice. No reason to lower your voice like 1/2 an octave. She sounded nothing like a man, and it just became annoying and ridiculous. Just use your normal voice. We know when it's a man talking. It was reaaaallllyyyy annoying!
