Historia
You can’t truly understand the last decade of the 20th century without a look at the muddy, electrifying rock music that would come to define it: grunge. For such a short-lived genre—at least in the mainstream—grunge had a lasting impact on American music and culture. It also provides a unique lens through which to examine the post-Reagan, pre-internet America of the 1990s. In the six lectures of The Story of Grunge, you’ll explore the rise and evolution of the genre, tracing it from Seattle subculture to MTV and the Billboard charts, all the way to its decline and evolution into new forms.

Knowledgeable historian, but s one of this is just political opinion. Author minimizes justifies drug abuse by not offering any counter argument

Historia
Years after the events of The House of God, the Fat Man has been given leadership over a new Future of Medicine Clinic at what is now only Man's 4th Best Hospital, and has persuaded Dr. Roy Basch and some of his intern cohorts to join him to teach a new generation of interns and residents. In a medical landscape dominated by computer screens and corrupted by money, they have one goal: to make medicine humane again.

political and unrealistic
Revisado: 02-18-25
Ridiculous. If you have been in medicine anytime in the last 15 years you will struggle to get past the BS to the few positives in this book.

A paramedic story that takes places in the wild and sheds a never-seen-before light on wilderness medicine, our national parks, and conflicts that arise between tourism and protecting the land. Wild Rescues is a fast-paced, firsthand glimpse into the exciting lives of paramedics who work with the National Park Service: a unique brand of park rangers who respond to medical and traumatic emergencies in some of the most isolated and rugged parts of America.

Barney Fife meets Saint Theresa?
Revisado: 11-01-23
Interesting stories that are well explained for the lay person. With only a little political commentary.
After 20 years in Emergency medicine, I struggled with the portrayal of NPS/EMS. Although emergency medicine has never been a hotbed for mental health, these guys including author has serious martyr syndrome.

Unrealistic Characters
Revisado: 10-09-23
The villains in Follets book are so simplistically evil. They never do good but ludicrously try to find evil to perpetuate. I’m surprised they have time for a life when not drowning puppies and burning orphans at the stake. Meanwhile, the rest of the town is so naive as to be unbelievable.

Historia
The Mongol army led by Genghis Khan subjugated more lands and people in 25 years than the Romans did in 400. In nearly every country the Mongols conquered, they brought an unprecedented rise in cultural communication, expanded trade, and a blossoming of civilization.

Miraculous Mongols??
Revisado: 03-07-19
This book rewrites a great deal of world history with an extreme bias. Not only does the author paint the Mongols as benevolent leaders who cared for the poor and strive for peace but he credits them with multiple inventions and ideas with little to no merit. IF ONLY THE MOGULS HAD REMAINED IN POWER WE WOULD SURELY HAVE THE CURE FOR CANCER NOW!!!
