After all the sh*t Sarafina put her through (literally tried to kill her) she STILL decided to give her a chance, ignore knights warnings, AND GO DOWN A CREEPY BASEMENT THAT SARAFINAS B*TCH MOM SENT HER DOWN. Uggghhh. She wasn’t naive in the first book, now she’s just annoyingly dumb. Not sure if I’ll get the next book.

This was a fun little listen. But I see most of the - reviews are from ppl who buy stuff before reading the reviews, and/or reading the description. This is a good bully romance. One of the comments said “I’m not sure why she went back with the ML after he tried to r*ape her” like geez, do you not pay attention?? It wasn’t the ML, it was his uncle that tried to. Honestly, the bullying isn’t really that heavy. Mainly from the fake b*tches in the school. Maybe a little from Knight. Also, there’s a perfect amount of mystery. I still have 1h left to listen to, so if I change my mind, I’ll update 🫶🏼

The ONLY cringy thing was when she kept saying “Shit on a crumbling cracker” like…girl 🤨 It was okay the first time, but the next 3 times it became odd. Other than that, I loved it!

Overall, this was a good book. Decent amount of mystery and angst to keep you listening while in between books. I’m in a book slump right now. It’s so hard finding a good bully/dark romance book that isn’t all smut & no story. This one does it perfectly.

Basically all smut and FL does everything they want. She’s an airhead. No actual story.

I’m a sucker for dark college bully “romance” books, and I loved the “Sick Boys” book, “God of malice” & a few other ones that might be disturbing to a few ppl. I thought I would like this because it sounded similar, but I don’t care for the FL. She constantly lets them do whatever, and she basically just lives in their frat house as a prisoner. I don’t like how much of a pushover she is. There’s not really much of a story besides them screwing, keeping the girl as prisoner (bc they’re trying to protect her from a threat that their parents caused) Not as exciting as I thought it would be. On to the next one! I’ll update my review once I finish the last quarter of the book.

Like watching an addictive movie in your head

OMG, I loooooooved this audiobook. It’s set at nighttime in a city run with crime, gangs, violence, sex work, dirty cops, and one hot gang leader with grey eyes😌 I LOOOVE the FL too. She hasn’t gotten on my nerves once. At first I didn’t really like the accents, but now I couldn’t picture this book being read any other way. When someone types on a laptop, you hear laptop noises. When someone opens a door, you hear a door creak. Such a good movie, I mean book. Reminds me of the daredevil marvel series with the setting/city at night/crime vibes. LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!🥰🧚🏼‍♀️🥵🥂

Should’ve been one story

I just read the second book, & it did not stand up on its own. It should’ve been one book, esp with audible being so expensive. This is why I try to read standalone lately. ANYWAYS, it was a cute, fun, smut filled kind of towards the end) read. It’s not a bully romance. More like Cinderella but with 3 men.

SPOILERS BELOW!!


1st BOOK
-she’s a “nerdy” girl who hides her beauty
-childhood trauma
-TERRIBLE STEP MOM & STEP SIS
-she secretly has billions she hides
-she hides she’s the butterfly
-her mom and father both died when she was young
-she eventually hooks up with 3 of them
-she only did the dirty w/2 of them at once
-at the end her sis told her secret
-at the end she hops on a jet and leaves them

2nd BOOK
-she’s now working at her dead fathers firm
-she does everything in her power to not use her brain
-she doesn’t listen to the boys at all, or hear an explanation
-she puts them through hell
-she goes from smart to not smart
-she didn’t give the boys any time to process what her terrible step sis told them (about her having billions, that she was using them, & other lies)
-she’s a completely different person (normally I like that, but not so much in this)
-the MISCOMMUNICATION TROP DRAGGED OUT OVER HALF OF THE BOOK
-then the end is just a bunch of rushed makeup sex

I REALLY wanted to love this, but it fell flat.

Love the different take on “Fae,” but wish it was duet

This was defiantly a read/listen that was worth the credit. I loved the magic system, and the different take on the fae. It reminds me of something, but I can’t place it lol I’ll def be reading the next one. One thing I wish tho is that the author would’ve given us more detail on how the ML looks. I know he has dark muffled hair (long? Maybe?) grey eyes, he’s tall af, lots of muscles, & he’s a shadow daddy with shadow wings. Other than that, I couldn’t really put a face to him the entire time. Also wish they would’ve done it duet style. Hate when the guy narrator voices the girls, & vice versa.. I had to keep thinking of other shadow daddy’s lol And I wish the mate bond was about 20% less of the story. I’m a big fan of slow SLOW burn, but the mating bond, & their attraction to each other got in the way of the story a few times. I have a feeling the next one will be better. I still have 2 hours left of the story, had to take a break and listen to something else. If you want a mini listen, & have extra credits, “Taken by the Dark Elf King” By Charlotte Swan is really good. The narration is chefs kiss.
