Historia
Nate Foster has big dreams. His whole life, he’s wanted to star in a Broadway show. (Heck, he’d settle for seeing a Broadway show.) But how is Nate supposed to make his dreams come true when he’s stuck in Jankburg, Pennsylvania, where no one (except his best pal Libby) appreciates a good show tune? With Libby’s help, Nate plans a daring overnight escape to New York.

Wonderful, funny, campy
Revisado: 06-05-18
While my suspension of disbelief was (very) minorly strained, this was a quirky, unexpected, wonderful, funny story about growing up different, family, and courage to be yourself. I was not a hardcore theater kid, and am not a big theater gay, but I still very much identified with Nate's difficult, stressful, and seemingly inescapable childhood journey. I also laughed out loud quite a lot while listening. This story has a good balance of both humor and drama. The author's narration was authentic, expressive, and engaging. The parts that maybe hit close to home for him emotionally came through in his performance. I would recommend to adults, or to 13-year olds struggling with fitting in and sexual identity. I wish I had this to read or listen to when I was that age.

Good performance. Slightly irritating plot. Poor characterizations.
Revisado: 01-23-18
Good performance as usual by Mr. Beierle. Found the plot to be slow, plodding, largely irrelevant. Characters were not developed any further than the last book of The Belgariad. Character reactions to events were wooden, lacked energy, and frequently unbelievable and untrue to previously established personalities. Still an ok listen, but found myself irritated and yelling out loud at the sometimes non-sensical, WTF writing.

On the run from his old-blood werewolf family, Tim Dirus finds himself in Wolf's Paw, one of the last surviving refuges from the days when werewolves were hunted by humans and one of the last places Tim wants to be. Kept away from other wolves by his uncle, Tim knows almost nothing about his own kind except that alpha werewolves only want to control and dominate a scrawny wolf like him. Tim isn't in Wolf's Paw an hour before he draws the attention of Sheriff Nathaniel Neri.

Ack - the narrator - boo
Revisado: 05-01-17
Would you try another book from R. Cooper and/or Robert Nieman?
From R. Cooper, probably. From Robert Neiman (narrator) - NO!
What other book might you compare Little Wolf to and why?
Typical pack/shifter Alpha/Beta type romance.
Would you be willing to try another one of Robert Nieman’s performances?
No. This performance was awful. I wanted to like this, I REALLY did. I read the Kindle book before buying the audiobook, I liked the story so much. But RN killed it for me.
Was Little Wolf worth the listening time?
If you want to enjoy this novel, and do it in a timely manner not drawn out by featureless, slow narration, I highly recommend reading the print version.
Any additional comments?
Check out the print version - I liked it. Skip the audiobook, unfortunately.

Historia
Three years ago, Bear McKenna’s mother took off for parts unknown with her new boyfriend, leaving Bear to raise his six-year-old brother Tyson, aka the Kid. Somehow they’ve muddled through, but since he’s totally devoted to the Kid, Bear isn’t actually doing much living. With a few exceptions, he’s retreated from the world, and he’s mostly okay with that - until Otter comes home. Otter is Bear’s best friend’s older brother, and as they’ve done for their whole lives, Bear and Otter crash and collide in ways neither expect.

LOVE this story & series
Revisado: 02-10-17
If you could sum up Bear, Otter, and the Kid in three words, what would they be?
Sweet, heart-rending, heart-warming
Who was the most memorable character of Bear, Otter, and the Kid and why?
The Kid, just so damn precocious and a huge heart. All 3 are great though.
Any additional comments?
I would love to see the whole series of 3 books (1 more promised) be made into a short streaming series on Netflix or Amazon. Seriously. Casting would be key though, and the internal monologues might be tough to pull off if not handled correctly.

Good story, narrator needs a dictionary
Revisado: 02-10-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Yes. Please re-record with Michael Lesley as the narrator. This narrator had issues. He did an AMAZING job (IMO) on TJ's other books like "The Lightning-Struck Heart" and "Tell Me It's Real."
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator mispronounced or completely misread a number of "big" words the kid and others used. It drove me nuts as I shouted out loud the correct pronunciation or the correct word. "Egregious." "Stead" is not pronounced like a horse ("steed"). Etc.
Could you see Who We Are being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes, I would actually love to see the whole series of 3 books (1 more promised) be made into a short streaming series on Netflix or Amazon. Seriously. Casting would be key though, and the internal monologues might be tough to pull off if not handled correctly.

Repressed scholar Percival Endicott Whyborne has two skills: reading dead languages and hiding in his office at the Ladysmith Museum. After the tragic death of the friend he secretly loved, he's ruthlessly suppressed any desire for another man. So when handsome ex-Pinkerton Griffin Flaherty approaches him to translate a mysterious book, Whyborne wants to finish the job and get rid of the detective as quickly as possible. Griffin left the Pinkertons following the death of his partner, hoping to start a new life. But the powerful cult that murdered Glenn has taken root in Widdershins, and only the spells in the book can stop them.

Great ebook, terrible narration
Revisado: 02-03-17
I wanted to revisit this great story I read on my Kindle years ago in audiobook format. Unfortunately, the narrator's voice is whiny, thin, and sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom stall. His reading is terrible and he sounds super bored - zero energy. Terrible performance. After just finishing TJ Klune's "The Lightning-Struck Heart," the performance of which was amazing, I shut this one down after 5 minutes. I want my money back. Too bad, because I really like the book and the series. Get the book or ebook instead.

Revisado: 02-03-17
I read this story awhile ago and had so much fun reading it and laughing out loud. I wanted to revisit it again as an audiobook, and man am I glad I did! Michael Lesley brings hilarious life to all the characters. He sounds like he's having so much fun presenting the book. TJ Klune's writing and characters are both endearing and sassy as f***, "So much sass!" Michael's characterizations were just amazing! Can't speak highly enough of this audiobook. Full 5 stars +
