The narrator was a NO for me
Revisado: 02-17-22
The narrator was a no for me. She has pleasant voice but she did nothing for this story. Her voice never changed emotion, the whole book she pretty much sounded like she was whining in a way. If I didn't pay attention I wouldn't even know which character was speaking. The story itself is a good story but the narrator definitely made it difficult for me and some things that happened I wish we knew the back story and what led up to it vs it just being sprung on me.

Historia
From an early age, Tyler Reynolds has felt different. Being the descendent of both slaves and slave masters, he has always struggled to fit in, never feeling fully accepted by Black or White communities due to his mixed roots. Then, he meets Layla, who accepts him entirely. It isn’t until after Tyler and Layla elope that she reveals a secret about herself - a secret that can potentially ruin everything that Tyler has been working hard to avoid. Will Tyler and Layla’s marriage survive the storm brewing their way, or will their romance end as quickly as it began?

Good story but narrator can’t read
Revisado: 01-23-21
The story was heart wrenching, be prepared, shined a light on the generational curse of sexual abuse and remaining silent. My issue is the narrator, his voice stayed the same throughout the book, the parts that were somber were not read that way at all. Also he can’t read simple words, like the name Regina for example. The editing was also lacking, one part of the book the narrator actually read a sentence, took a deep breath and read it again. I should’ve just read the book myself

Historia
Chastity Jeffries and Xavier King come from very different backgrounds, though they have one thing in common: they’re both living with family secrets. Chastity is the only child of a prominent pastor and has been raised with privilege, but her father’s testimony as a philanderer and her mom’s role as dutiful wife have tainted her view of love. Xavier never knew his father, and his mother abandoned him. His grandmother raised him in a household built on cruelty and violence instead of love and acceptance, instilling in him a fear of abandonment and an enormous sense of insecurity.

Really Good
Revisado: 01-11-21
This book was great, I love all the books I've read by this author. This one really breaks down the spirit of wrath does it in a great story that is unbiased, we get a chance to see it from both sides. Great book

Historia
Young, successful, and thriving, Shania and Greg have it all going on. Not only do they have the kind of relationship everyone envies, they’re also walking the right path. Greg, who’s a youth pastor at his church, is happily making a difference in the lives of troubled teens. But after receiving some unexpected news, Greg’s manhood takes a devastating blow. Realizing that her man is headed for depression, Shania suggests they take an exotic vacation to revitalize their marriage. Except the trip seems to pull them further apart instead of bringing them together.

I should've read instead of listened
Revisado: 12-21-20
I love this author so I'm going to press through, It's actually a good story but the narrator is horrible. It's like did she practice or even read the book before she did the recording? Authors should really do a trial run with the narrators because the wrong narrator can ruin a good book.
