Mercury, a lifeless victim of the Sun’s expanding power. Venus, once thought to be lush and fertile, now known to be trapped within a toxic and boiling atmosphere. Mars, the red planet, doomed by the loss of its atmosphere. Jupiter, twice the size of all the other planets combined, but insubstantial. Historia
Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (1881 1975), a native of Guildford, England, was probably the greatest writer of comedy in the 20th century. With each passing year, his work continues to grow in popularity. Jeeves, the omniscient, highly competent valet, and Bertie Wooster, the upper-class, feather-brained gadabout, are his two most famous creations. His stories are generally characterized by intricate plots dealing with human foibles and complex, romantic entanglements.

Great story, weird narration
Revisado: 03-01-19
How can one not love some of the early Jeeves stories? The reader’s voice for Bertie is high and weird. It grew on me somewhat. So not the best production but the only audiobook I saw with the first Jeeves story.

Historia
The idyll of Blandings Castle is about to be disturbed, for the Hon. Freddie Threepwood is poised to make his debut as a jewel thief. Freddie, however, is not alone: Blandings is simply brimming with criminals and impostors all intent on stealing Aunt Constance's 20,000 pound diamond necklace. It is left to the debonair Psmith, with his usual aplomb, to unscramble the passion, problems, and identities, of one and all.

One of the very best Wodehouses
Revisado: 05-20-16
This is one of my very favorites. It combines the hilarious character of Psmith with Blandings Castle. Psmith preserves his aplomb through many bizarre situations, and the loathsome Mr. Baxter gets his comeuppance. There were many laugh-out-loud moments, and Jonothan Cecil is truly the perfect Wodehouse reader.

Historia
Campion investigates once more, but this time he is on the run from the police - classic British crime writing at its best. Celebrated amateur detective Albert Campion awakes in hospital accused of attacking a police officer and suffering from acute amnesia. All he can remember is that he was on a mission of vital importance to His Majesty's government before his accident. On the run from the police and unable to recognise even his faithful servant Lugg or his own fiancée

One of Allingham's best
Revisado: 11-21-15
Traitor's Purse may be my favorite Campion novel. Campion himself is such a delightful character. But this is the only one in which he experiences true character development. The device of amnesia forces him to figure nearly everything out with no context and no background, just his wits. It's a very enjoyable read.

En route to a family vacation on the French Riviera, Inspector Roderick Alleyn glimpses from the train a shocking tableau. In a moonlit window, a white-robed figure raises a knife to a woman's shadow. Revisado: 08-28-15
Unlike most Ngiao Marshes, you know all along who the criminals are. But the characters are engagingly drawn and the plot suspenseful. The reader has a great sense of the tone of the books and was enjoyable to listen to.

Read Hunger Games and then stop
Revisado: 12-21-11
What did you like best about Catching Fire? What did you like least?
Unfortunately, the story line begins to really deteriorate after Hunger Games. The conflicts are repetitive, and the main charcter goes from a resourceful and interesting person to just another stupid, emotional teenage girl. She's an idiot, and the male characters aren't, which I found extremely annoying. Read the first one, but skip numbers 2 and 3.

You are presumably looking here for clues to the shocking conclusion of this terminal audiobook, or the ending of the end. The end of the end is the best place to begin the end, because if you listen to the end from the beginning of the beginning of the end to the end of the end of the end, you will arrive at the end of the end of your rope.

weak ending
Revisado: 11-17-07
Tim Curry is, as always, wonderful, but this was a disappointing end to the series. After all the mysterious buildup, you get almost no information about what has really been going on. While I understand leaving some questions unanswered, leaving them all unanswered was a weak ending to an enjoyable series.

pretty good but not great
Revisado: 08-15-07
First, the narrator of this book was fabulous, just the right intonations and subtle humor. It was really well done. However, I liked this book the least of the series so far. The solution to the mystery and the resolution of one of the plot lines were implausible in a way that the other stories have not been. That said, this is always an enjoyable series, but I wouldn't start with this one.

Historia
The Gingerbreadman, psychopath, sadist, genius, and killer, is on the loose. But it isn't Jack Spratt's case. He and Mary Mary have been demoted to Missing Persons following Jack's poor judgment involving the poisoning of Mr. Bun the baker. Missing Persons looks like a boring assignment until a chance encounter leads them into the hunt for missing journalist Henrietta "Goldy" Hatchett, star reporter for The Daily Mole.
