Three years ago, Morgan saved Lexie from a serial killer, who is now behind bars. But this time, she’s failed to protect her. Certain a new and more terrifying killer is at large, Morgan finds a neighbor who claims a man in a silver car was watching Lexie’s house.

Historia
When the body of a young woman is found, tied to her bed and the victim of a brutal attack in her own home, Detective Morgan Brookes is sickened by what she finds as she searches the house, and unprepared for the nightmares it inspires about her childhood. When the DNA collected gives a positive ID, Morgan can’t wait to put the attacker behind bars. But the person it matches to is already in prison. How could the DNA of someone who has been locked up for over 20 years have shown up in Morgan’s crime scene? And then they make another close match - to Morgan herself.

poor editing
Revisado: 04-18-25
over all the series is good. gets a little tedious with Morgan always getting in harms way at the end and almost dying yet to survive and catch the next serial killer. The editing is poor. Morgan's age has changed from 21 to 26 then to 24 then to 23, not in sequence with the order of books in the series. I wish the author would change it up just a little. How many serial killers can there be in 1 small town??

Historia
It’s the eve of 1953, and Aloysius Archer is in Los Angeles to ring in the New Year with an old friend, aspiring actress Liberty Callahan, when their evening is interrupted by an acquaintance of Callahan’s: Eleanor Lamb, a screenwriter in dire straits. After a series of increasingly chilling events—mysterious phone calls, the same blue car loitering outside her house, and a bloody knife left in her sink—Eleanor fears that her life is in danger, and she wants to hire Archer to look into the matter. Archer suspects that Eleanor knows more than she’s saying.

female narrator is HORRIBLE
Revisado: 07-28-24
I like the archer series but if they keep using the same female narrator I I'll not listen again. it's like listening to nails on a chalkboard. she is horrible and I'm surprised she gets paid. she should find a different line of work. male narrator is very goid and enjoyable to listen to

Historia
The 1950s are on the horizon, and Archer is in dire need of a fresh start after a nearly fatal detour in Poca City. So Archer hops on a bus and begins the long journey out west to California, where rumor has it there is money to be made if you’re hard-working, lucky, criminal - or all three. Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and an eye-popping blood-red 1939 Delahaye convertible - plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan who is planning to try her luck in Hollywood.

female narrator is horrible. This would be a awesome listen if not for her. The book was GREAT! Male narrator was very good. I just cannot stand the female narration. it's like nails on a chalk board. Also in my opinion, she doesn't capture the characters at all

Historia
Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Historia
Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Good but at the same time disappointing
Revisado: 10-21-20
thus was a good story, however, I was disturbed at how Grisham, showed very little empathy from the characters to a child who himself was abused but also watched abuse of his sister and mother from a police officer. In his book "a time to kill" i noticed much more empathy to the accused. I felt this good have been done better! maybe dug deeper in the state of mind of a child faced with an impossible decision against someone of authority
