Historia
When Sonya MacTavish inherits the huge Victorian mansion on the coast of Maine, she has no idea that the house is haunted. The footsteps she hears at night, the doors slamming, the music playing, are not figments of her imagination. In her dreams she sees glimpses of the past. In the present she finds portraits of brides. And when she has visions of an antique mirror, she is drawn to it, sensing it holds dark family secrets.

Too many ghosts for me!!!
Revisado: 12-20-24
How do you live in a house with some many ghosts? I really do enjoy the story. The characters are amazing and funny. It is so incredibly sad to relive how this family was devastated by sorrow and death. The narrator is amazing. I have always enjoyed her in any of her works. Nora is incredible in her descriptions and each chapter flows effortlessly. I do struggle with how Sonya and Cleo can live in the home with so many ghosts “happenings “ especially the evil. Can’t wait for the last book.

So happy for Darius
Revisado: 10-08-24
I cannot tell you how happy I was to get Darius’ story. I almost think this should have been from his POV because we have read about him for so long and we knew nothing about Malia. It doesn’t matter because it was a great book. Kristen Ashley does the best epilogues of any author I know. Thank you.
So much of Darius was explained and it just made me love him more. Would have loved some crazy action like the other books.
The narrator….I loved her voice. Yes, I was used to the other narrator but I think it was important to have another narrator for this book. I know that may seem controversial but ‘if you know, you know’. My only complaint was that she was a little too breathy and whispery. It started to get on my nerves. Great job Kristen. Thank you!

The side characters were the best. Did not like the main female character
Revisado: 06-24-24
Not the best way to end the series. The couple was just ‘meh’. I have always liked Joe but the coupling could have had a better story line. I am a big fan of Kleypas but this didn’t do it for me. The little side stories were great especially with Haven and Hardy.

Narrator Change
Revisado: 06-20-24
I love the story but I am most happy that the narrator changed. I have the old version and when I saw that they had changed the narrator to the person who did Sugar Daddy, I went ahead and bought this one. Used a credit and it was worth it. Great story.

Historia
Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Revisado: 06-14-24
Huge fan of this series. Never listened to the audio before. I have read every book so far of this family. I decided to reread and wanted to listen to a few. This was always my fav book. The slumber party. Hilarious. I like the narrator’s voice but what was up with all the one pauses. Very annoying.

Historia
Jenna’s parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It’s the best night of her life. It’s the last night of her life. Minutes later, Jake’s in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it’s no use. He doesn’t know that someone in the crowd has jabbed her with a needle.

It was good
Revisado: 01-30-24
I love this series. I look forward to the twice per year release dates. Of course Susan Erickson is the absolute best in her portrayal of the characters. The action was back. The random nyc chase and the crazy, disturbing stories. This actually brought tears to my eyes whenever kids are involved. Nadine and Jake are the absolute cutest and getting to know the band members was nice. The only thing I have to complain about is the constant loser references about kids. I understand Eve used it when interrogating but it was a little over done. Started to get on my nerves. (Rolling eyes). Without causing spoilers, there are a few touching scenes with some of our favs.
Overall, another great listen. Enjoyed feeling the anticipation and action that was lacking in the last few books.

It was okay
Revisado: 01-27-24
I have hard time with stories when the female character goes through so much bs from her partner/boyfriend/husband but will forgive so quickly. He will say or do some of the most unforgivable things but with a look or a touch or a sob story of some past trauma will make everything okay. Or they sexually persuade them to take him back. I’m getting tired of the “alpha” male. I love Kristen Ashley but I need an “alpha” couple.

Historia
They say bad things happen in threes. After my boyfriend broke off our engagement, I lost my apartment, and was laid off from my job, I can definitely attest to that. They also say life is what happens when you say yes to new adventures. So when my two sisters invited me to ring in the new year in Ireland, I decided to throw all caution to the wind and go for it. I was going to let "saying yes" be my new resolution. Little did I know I'd spend New Year's Eve having a hot and dirty one-night stand with Padraig McCarthy, one hell of a sexy Irishman.

Revisado: 09-18-23
My heart. What a great romance. If you want a romance with a good HEA with a hunky, brooding, rugby playin Irishman, then this is the book for you. The narrator did a great job and the accents were spot on. Caution: Sex scenes are wow!!

Historia
Lt. Eve Dallas is just home from a long overdue vacation when she responds to a call of an unattended death. The victim is Martin Greenleaf, retired Internal Affairs Captain. At first glance, the scene appears to be suicide, but the closer Eve examines the body, the more suspicious she becomes. An unlocked open window, a loving wife and family, a too-perfect suicide note—Eve's gut says it's a homicide. After all, Greenleaf put a lot of dirty cops away during his forty-seven years in Internal Affairs. It could very well be payback—and she will not rest until the case is closed.

She Back!!!!
Revisado: 09-12-23
Thank goodness this book was so much better than the last one. The last book, Encore In Death was such a disappointment. Payback is what I love about this series. The secondary characters were back and we are brought up to date on the happenings with members of her team, Peabody and the new house, and Mavis and the baby. There is another surprise that totally caught me off guard. And PEABODY has totally matured as a detective. I love how the author lets us see her growth as a detective. It's like as a reader, we are happy for this character. We have read about her from her humble beginnings as a street cop. I love it. Even the relationship between Eve and Somerset has changed. I did miss the bickering. The jabs at each other are so funny.
My reason for not giving it 5 stars is because I miss the action. Kicking down the doors, wearing riot gear, all the action. We have not had any serious action since Desperation In Death. I miss that. Eve was her badass self but not total badass.
So with all that, Payback In Death is a solid read. Very enjoyable and Susan Erikson as narration, as always, is wonderful. What happened to the dispatch sound. It was done in regular voice not like a computer. Please don't make that a thing.

Great ending
Revisado: 02-24-23
I loved this last book. The series was great. I think the third book for me was the worst. Delaney and Laurel just didn’t make a good couple. I didn’t see the love. Mac and Carter, the first book, was actually my favorite. Parker and Mal was my second best, Emma and Jack, third.
I loved Mal. He kept Parker on her toes. His mom was adorable and he loved her so much. Great narration. For some strange reason there were crazy pauses during the narration. I always thought something was wrong. Good series, light, enjoyable and predictable.
