Historia
In April 1970, during the glory days of the Apollo space program, NASA sent Navy Captain Jim Lovell and two other astronauts on America's fifth mission to the moon. Only 55 hours into the flight of Apollo 13, disaster struck: a mysterious explosion rocked the ship, and soon its oxygen and power began draining away. Written with all the color and drama of the best fiction, Apollo 13 (previously published as Lost Moon) tells the full story of the moon shot that almost ended in catastrophe.

Moving and detailed
Revisado: 12-17-20
I've already been fascinated by the lunar missions and this book did not disappoint. Lots of technical details with the right mix of the human element. Very touching. Highly recommended for the nerdy type. Excellent book!

Historia
In Carrying the Fire, Michael Collins conveys, in a very personal way, the drama, beauty, and humor of the adventure of reaching the moon. He also traces his development from his first flight experiences in the air force, through his days as a test pilot, to his Apollo 11 spacewalk, presenting an evocative description of the joys of flight as well as a new perspective on time, light, and movement from someone who has seen the fragile Earth from the other side of the moon.

The human side of the space race
Revisado: 09-11-19
The powerful personal story of a prominent member of the Apollo missions giving weight to the commitment and cost involved in achieving the goal of putting a man on the moon.
Lengthy, but packed full of the details of Michael Collins' journey through the ranks of the military and NASA that lead to his key role on Apollo 11.
Highly recommended.
Reader's pace was quite slow, but at 1.65x speed it was pleasant and clear.

Common sense that will change your life.
Revisado: 01-30-19
If you can muster the self discipline to do even several of these steps you'll find yourself way ahead of the norm. Unfortunately there is no quick fix to financial freedom. It takes hard work and dedication. While I didn't get this book until after my debt was gone, the insights in this book are the same principles I have used... just not in the same order or to "gazelle intensity."
These common sense principles will transform your life and your future. Don't be a slave to debt. Make your money work for you, not the bank.

Wish I'd have read this 30 years ago
Revisado: 12-18-18
It's all common sense... if you were born an extrovert. Sadly, I wasn't.
I've been coming out of my shell for the last 30 years and this book was a huge step toward me becoming a people person. I still like my solitude, but this book makes my life around others dramatically more enjoyable for not just me, but everyone I meet, work with, spend time with, and even around my family.
Reading this book means you'll need to change your attitudes and behaviors toward others if you want success. All of the education in the world is useless if it's not applied. But, try a few tips from this book and you'll soon see the change in others' attitudes towards you and you'll want to try more.

Every leader must be ready and willing to take charge, to make hard, crucial calls for the good of the team and the mission. Something much more difficult to understand is that in order to be a good leader, one must also be a good follower. This is a dichotomy - a Dichotomy of Leadership. It is, as authors Jocko Willink and Leif Babin explained in their best-selling first audiobook, Extreme Ownership, “Simple, Not Easy”.

The clarifying extension to Extreme Ownership
Revisado: 11-02-18
The original "Extreme Ownership" covered the core foundations of leadership. "Dichotomy" clarifies where one should stand when confronting the many facets of being in a lead role. It gives powerful and memorable illustrations that equip you to find a middle ground and strike a balance between extremes so you can become a more effective leader. Implementing its principles will most certainly have an impact in all areas of your life. Thanks to Jocko and Laif for your insightful experiences and your willingness to share them with the rest of us. Both titles are very highly recommended.

Excellent tool for leaders
Revisado: 10-19-18
As some one who has been a frontline worker for 22 years, I never made the effort to study management or leadership. Now, after having been promoted to CIO, I see the need for strength in leadership. This book gave me insights on what I was lacking, and reaffirmed the values I already possessed. Very highly recommended.
