Historia
Every person in every function of every organization is involved in solving problems. They show up in your email inbox, in meetings, in your own work. They are strategic and tactical, mundane and breakthrough, easy and difficult. Most organizations want to, and need to, improve their people's problem-solving efforts, and so they offer them tools, templates, and training. Yet this is not where the leverage for impact is found. People Solve Problems: The Power of Every Person, Every Day, Every Problem explores the real leverage to improve your problem solving.

Wow! Finally…
Revisado: 12-27-21
Finally a book that speaks to the realities of problem solving - and as the title implies those realities center around the fact that people solve problems. There are so many gems in this book and it should be on every aspiring professional’s reading list. I ordered a copy for all the managers on my team and hope they do the same for those they serve as well.

Ask a member of the middle class what it takes to become wealthy, and she'll tell you it takes a bold new idea. Tell that to a self-made millionaire, and he'll vehemently disagree. What explains the difference in mind-set between the self-made wealthy and the rest of us? It's not what you think, as journalist and entrepreneur Lewis Schiff convincingly illustrates through groundbreaking research and compelling storytelling.

Historia
The guru to the gurus at last shares his knowledge with the rest of us. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's seminal studies in behavioral psychology, behavioral economics, and happiness studies have influenced numerous other authors, including Steven Pinker and Malcolm Gladwell. In Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman at last offers his own, first book for the general public. It is a lucid and enlightening summary of his life's work. It will change the way you think about thinking. Two systems drive the way we think and make choices, Kahneman explains....

I found the book extremely insightful. So much so that I've started to research more deeply the work of Amos Tversky and Daniel Kahneman.

I've listened to this a couple times, because I've gained something new with each listen.
What did you like best about this story?
I like that it provides useful tactics that work. Though many are common sense, we don't often make decisions in a structured fashion. The framework provided helps me in guiding others through their decision problems as well.

If you could sum up The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business in three words, what would they be?
Although I do appreciate all that I've learned from my actual MBA, I can't deny the value of the well organized nuggets Josh provides here. His voice is at times annoying, but not completely so.

Historia
Anything can be measured. This bold assertion is the key to solving many problems in business and life in general. The myth that certain things can't be measured is a significant drain on our nation's economy, public welfare, the environment, and even national security. In fact, the chances are good that some part of your life or your professional responsibilities is greatly harmed by a lack of measurement---by you, your firm, or even your government.
