Historia
Architect Kayla Carter and her husband designed a beautiful house for themselves in Round Hill’s new development, Shadow Ridge Estates. It was supposed to be a home where they could raise their three-year-old daughter and grow old together. Instead, it’s the place where Kayla’s husband died in an accident - a fact known to a mysterious woman who warns Kayla against moving in. The woods and lake behind the property are reputed to be haunted, and the new home has been targeted by vandals leaving threatening notes.

Very good
Revisado: 10-12-23
At first, I was not into this book at all, and contemplated whether I would finish it and then I couldn’t stop listening. It just grabbed me and broke my heart. The narrator is great, and the story is compelling. I did not see that incoming at all.

The set up was long. For a while I was wondering if anything was going to happen and then it got interesting. I enjoyed the ending.

Good story

Good story. Not sure why lead had to almost drown to take the case. But otherwise enjoyed it.

Historia
Lillie Silva knew life as an empty nester would be hard after her only child left for college, but when her husband abruptly dumps her for another woman just as her son leaves, her world comes crashing down. Besides the fact that this announcement is a complete surprise (to say the least), what shocks Lillie most is that she isn't...heartbroken. She's furious. Lillie has loved her life on Cape Cod, but as a mother, wife and nurse-midwife, she's used to caring for other people...not taking care of herself.

Historia
A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged. Left behind is a lonely 15-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother's sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from - a place to which she vowed she'd never return.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-18-17
Any additional comments?
Cant believe this was from the same author of 'Girl on a Train". I actually read that book twice I so loved it. I tried so hard to like this but it was so confusing and dull. The beginning introduced so many characters that I had to start it over. I liked no one in the book, each character was so flat and unappealing. Don't waste your time.

Not one of his better books
Revisado: 05-15-15
The last book was so good. This was a little drawn out in the beginning and then it seems rushed. Just wasn't satisfying.
