Plausible future Earth and proper sci-fi technology. Women are respected, but I don't think they appeared in Chronothon's (the main organisation's) hierarchy.
Will certainly look out for more by Chu... but not by this narrator.

Terrific variety of styles if short crime/noir stories set in Belfast, some by authors I was already familiar with. Many funny, many moving. Such high quality that I'll seek out others in this series, and others by these authors.

Great chase story, but deeply sad

Neither predictable nor unpredictable; neatly in between. Riddled with sadness and parenthood angst. Characters were all well drawn, and just slightly far fetched; the story detailed enough that it was possible to overlook that while listening.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
If the narrator had read the stories with any interest, I might have been able to grasp the quality of the stories themselves. But the reading was tedious, which made the stories seem tedious.
Would you recommend Zombie Cheerleaders: And Other Nightmares to your friends? Why or why not?
No. Nothing gripping or entertaining about them.
How could the performance have been better?
A narrator could have been used who was actually into the stories!

good "listening experience", but not a good "book"

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. It's written by Denver who is known for decent, fairly serious grown-up thrillers. Yet in this story, the lead was so clever and righteous that it often came across as a spoof. Also, although the story is not predictable, the characters are very formulaic.
If you’ve listened to books by Jeffery Deaver before, how does this one compare?
Poor.
Have you listened to any of Alfred Molina and full cast ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. But I've listened to another Audible.com drama, and can say the same about both: the sound production is good; but the effort seems to have gone into that rather than the writing. There is no subtlety: these dramas are more like over-the-top Hollywood than BBC radio dramas, for example.
Was The Starling Project worth the listening time?
Only just... but I'm glad I caught it in a "daily deal", as I would have regretted paying full price.
