The ideas
Revisado: 04-06-25
Love craft is kind of a terrible writer but the performance is really well done, the reader was clearly very into it. The ideas here are really cool but they’re just held back too much by love crafts terrible prose.

Historia
The only life Tress has known on her island home in an emerald-green ocean has been a simple one, with the simple pleasures of collecting cups brought by sailors from faraway lands and listening to stories told by her friend Charlie. But when his father takes him on a voyage to find a bride and disaster strikes, Tress must stow away on a ship and seek the Sorceress of the deadly Midnight Sea. Amid the spore oceans where pirates abound, can Tress leave her simple life behind and make her own place sailing a sea where a single drop of water can mean instant death?

The performance
Revisado: 04-05-25
I always love Michael Kramer narrations, he really knows how to bring characters personalities out making them distinct and entertaining. But I went into this book having only read the stormlight archive and this story kinda just didn’t do it for me. I love hoid as a character and seeing him tell a story is fun but the actual story is kind of predictable and slow. It’s not bad but I think I went into it with the wrong expectations and I advise anyone who is already a Sanderson fan to adjust theirs before going into this book.
