Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

Wow, this should definitely be a required reading
Revisado: 08-01-23
if this were a required read, the world would be a better place. this book ties together, and explains things that I knew were deeply engrained in society and in us (speaking as a white person). It goes way beyond that and I feel like it’s only just skimmed the surface. please, if you are a white person, read this. if you know other white people, that would be interested, please share. even if they are not, it’s still worth mentioning. even if it plants a seed.

Historia
The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist: Finding Healing After Hidden Emotional and Psychological Abuse is the most comprehensive and helpful audiobook on the topic of covert narcissism. This type of narcissism is one of the most damaging forms because the abuse is so hidden and so insidious. You can be in a relationship that can last for decades and not realize you are being psychologically and emotionally controlled, manipulated, and abused.

This book has been my last few years....
Revisado: 06-07-22
I have listened to this book many so times. To help me remember and stop the doubting and blaming myself. This book is my last few years with my CN. It is like the author wrote it about my life. I cannot believe how similar this is to how my CN has acted, treated me and even down to the same wording. My CN's projections now make so much sense, the whole thing is spot on. I am at a loss of words that can explain how this book has been my life.

A Must Read.....
Revisado: 04-09-22
Wow, this book sums up exactly what I've been trying to get in my marriage. It is most likely too late however it was very validating and insightful to me and my situation.
On a separate note, I look forward to practicing these steps. It is my goal to get back to being positive, and an even better version of myself than I was.
Thank you Michael, this meant a lot to me.

"Dr. Spock? Check. Penelope Ann Leach (Remember her?) Check. What to Expect When You’re Expecting? Check. I had a 700 dollar Bellini crib for God’s sake! Everything was perfect…." And so begins Kim Stagliano’s electrifying and hilarious memoir of her family’s journey raising three daughters with autism. Always outspoken, often touching, and sometimes heartbreaking, Kim Stagliano is a powerful new voice in comedic writing.

I want more...
Revisado: 02-18-20
Wow! I would listen to this book when I had alone me-time, which was mostly while driving to work. It had me crying and laughing each time and many times doing both back to back. I have 1 daughter with Autism and with Kim having 3 I could see my daughter in many stories of each of her girls, as well as myself in Kim. If you are reading this Kim, Thank you!!! This meant the world to me. I learned things that clicked and helped me to understand, like Kim saying, 'Often times kids on the spectrum have sensory issues that interfere with knowing when they have to pee or poop.'
Also, the narrator, Nicole Vilencia, was amazing and I wish she read more autobooks because they can be so dry, which this was not. I now picture that being Kim's actual voice.
I feel that this book came from a place of love, compassion and acceptance for all view points and would be hard to find it offensive. Autism is not one size fits all, and I feel that she portrayed that thought in a nutshell so that even when she mentions vaccines and therapies, it is done so in a non-offensive way to those that may disagree.
As a side note, I wish that we could work together for the most part instead of getting all political when vaccines are mentioned. Think of how much further we would be in helping those with Autism.
I love how Kim has friends that think both ways. I understand that emotions are a big part of this and sometimes misdirected.
Thank you Kim and Nicole. Please do another book, and make sure Nicole is the narrator...pretty please.
