Just wow.

 I listen to a lot of audiobooks while I work, and it’s been a long time since I really dived deep into a story. I loved the duality of this book.  I will definitely seek out other books by this author.

This book was so bad!

I don’t like to give bad reviews… But this book was terrible! The actions of the heroin were not even comprehensive! She did things nobody in their right mind would do. The author also had inconsistencies. The heroine was stricken with poverty, so only ate one or two meals a day yet the author had her complaining about her fat butt. If you only eat one or two meals a day, it’s not likely you’re going to have a fat butt. Plus, the dialogue was just awful! I can’t tell you how many times I shook my head and said to myself this book is so stupid. I listened to the end, because I hate to start some thing and not finish it, but I will not continue with the series.

Not as good as book one and two

I got through this story after almost giving up several times. When Elaina went into the comma I was actually relieved that I wouldn’t have to listen to the female narration for a while. They both started rocky, but Jeremy York got better as the book progressed. Stephanie Rose did not. The inflection she uses makes her narrative sound like a child reading a book, not a narrator trying to make us believe she’s the character she’s portraying. Can no one hear this when in the production mode??

Good…. But….

This is one of many R.S. Grey books that I have read or listened to. The story was good but I won’t put it in the list of favorites. It seemed to me like the story dragged on and I didn’t always like the way the antagonists treated each other.

This was probably a good book in its day, but the setting is probably late 80’s. Cell phones are just getting started. I listened all the way, but didn’t love it as so many things felt old fashioned and didn’t relate to the world we live in today. I also didn’t love this narrator. She made all the characters sound old… even the 17 year old teenager didn’t sound 17.

I finished it… But!

Both narrators were difficult to listen to. The male narrator sounded like a cartoon character villain and the female character sounded like she was on the verge of tears all the time. The story itself is contradictory. The male lead goes on and on about how he’s not going to hurt Valentina then consistently hurts her. Also, it’s not clear if this is an alternate reality story or if it’s happening in modern times or future? I could not be get a handle on the environment the story was based in. I’m not going to listen to the next book.

Didn’t love it!

I had a hard time with this story. It started out pretty good, but the deception went too far. I don’t think anyone would go through with this to such a degree in real life unless they were a total asshole….. and we as an audience are supposed to understand and sympathize with these characters?? Not me! It became too unrealistic.

Sweet, well done story.

This is a short, romantic story that was well read by Summer. I read one review before getting this book that said it turned into porn. That is so far from the truth. There is one very mild sex scene towards the end and that’s it! This is a story about the relationship of two people who come together under an unusual circumstance. Worth the 5 hour listen.

Not what I normally read.

This book was pretty far out of my wheel house, but it was a great story! I cried a little too much to want to read again, but so happy I didn’t miss out on this incredible narration of the complexities of living and particularly living in the spotlight! What a compelling and emotional story! Loved it!
