My wife liked the rural setting and that it didn't have a lot of Vic in it. She likes the character Lolo.

Michigan. To tens of thousands of womyn from around the globe, the word meant not a state in the upper Midwest of the U.S., but a state of mind, a state of freedom. A culture, a community, a revolution. The Land. From 1976 to 2015, the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival was home ground for the lesbian feminist movement. There we strove to embody the principles of matriarchal feminism and bring that wisdom to life in every aspect of the town we created, and the values that guided our lives together.

History, trips and news of Canada

I fast forwarded through the audio book much of the way. While some tips are interesting, most can be found in an encyclopedia. No mention is made of Canada's National Parks, a prime reason for my visit.
Perhaps this works as a book. As an audio book though it is best to pass.

I will keep this book handy as it contains good ideas on how to simply set boundaries and guide posts in life. The material is set forth with plenty of examples of difficult situations and ways to respond to them allowing a listener to practice their own behaviors.

Historia
"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

Musical history with James Taylor
Revisado: 02-13-20
James Taylor bares much of his soul in this autobiography based on a time early in his career. Since I love his music as well as many of the musicians he discusses within, I love this book. Intertwining recollections of growing up Taylor with inspirations for his songwriting flowed smoothly throughout.
I've had the pleasure of seeing him play with Carole King, another favorite, songwriter of mine and found it satisfying to learn how their stories as friends inspired each of their music.
If you enjoy folk music or learning the back stories of favorite folk muscians this book will be an enjoyable experience for you.

Historia
In 1912, scientist Marie Curie spent two months on the British seaside at the home of Hertha Ayrton, an accomplished mathematician, inventor, and suffragette. At the time, Curie was in the throes of a scandal in France over her affair with Paul Langevin, which threatened to overshadow the accomplishment of her second Nobel Prize. Performed by Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany at the Minetta Lane Theatre, this play by Lauren Gunderson is an ode to two remarkable women.

My biggest disappoinment is the book ended. I hate that. This series is keeping me engaged, alternately with amusement, chest tightening gasps or thoughts of "what would I do in that situation. Mr's Tufo and O'Brien, you are downright mean to leave us dangling at the end of this one. Now get back to work and finish the next one before I send a pack of nigh runners your way.

I could do without some of the more pungent details. The protagonist, however does a thorough job of killing the undead which always makes me smile. (Alice really had it coming). I haven't decided whether to take the plunge and buy the books yet. I'll stew in that awhile longer.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Interesting story
Revisado: 12-31-19
I'm glad I gave this book a listen as being a lower 48'er I have no concept of the lives, values and legends of Alaska. It was an interesting listen. Teddy Kyle Smith seems to have brought his misfortunes upon himself and certainly to those who came in contact with him while he was not right in his mind.
The author and narrator did a good job of weaving the good and bad parts of Teddy Kyle Smith's personality, successes and demons I to a thought provoking podcast. When finished I immediately searched for more Information on the man, the story of the trial.
it is my belief that regardless of the circumstances and success Mr Smith achieved the jury came to a correct decision and a fair metting of justice, harsh that it may be.
His dead mother, and the people he chose to harm on his life's journey bear the scars of his demons. It seems just he do the same.
The story also brought to light the reality that Justice in Alaska can be illusive in some cases. Transportation costs are real. Perhaps a solution would be to hold "roaming courts" monthly or quarterly so remote villages can fairly share in their duties as jurors. It is not too much to ask.
