Historia
Once Donald Trump’s fiercest surrogate, closest confidant, and staunchest defender, Michael Cohen knows where the skeletons are buried. This is the most devastating business and political horror story of the century. As Trump’s lawyer and “fixer”, Cohen not only witnessed firsthand but was also an active participant in the inner workings of Trump’s business empire, political campaign, and presidential administration.

Not to sing Cohen's praises, but his book reveals so much (most of it was not surprising). He does own his questionable decisions and amoral actions, and he accurately predicted January 6. I wish more people would get their heads out of their butts and listen to this.

Historia
Beth and Cath are leaving their husbands. This is a story about two very different women. One is wealthy and having an affair with a man who gives her the kind of love that her cold, detached husband does not. One is living hand to mouth, suffering at the hands of a violent partner who would rather see her dead than leave him. You may think you know these women already and how their lives will unfold. Beth will live happily ever after with her little girl and her soulmate. Cath will go back to her abusive husband. And these two women will never cross paths. But you will be wrong.

So amateurish it's borderline insulting! The title of my review is a direct quote from the book! 😂 Don't waste your time and money. This is an utterly ridiculous story with an even more ridiculous narrator and absolutely abysmal writing.

While running in Central Park, New York Times science writer Damon Ellis crashes—literally—into a story that just might resurrect his career…and change the course of human history. On the face of it, it seems absurd—a small biotech company in Boston called Calypso that claims to have cracked the secret of eternal youth. Surely a hoax. Or is it?

I'm not a fan of fiction podcasts but I'm glad I gave this one a chance. I binged it in one day. The story is exciting and original. The performance is good but could do with less slurpy smooching noises. If you have misophonia, those will make you cringe.

Historia
It was a January afternoon in 1981 when a man’s German Shepherd came upon a grisly discovery in the woods outside of Houston: the badly decomposed remains of a young man, beaten to death, and a woman, who was strangled. For 40 years, the victims were nameless – until late 2021, when a team of genetic genealogists identified the pair as 21-year-old Harold Dean Clouse and 17-year-old Tina Gail Clouse, a married couple who had moved from Florida to Texas with their infant daughter. But the discovery of the identities only deepened the mystery: who killed the couple and why? And where is ...

Amateurish
Revisado: 11-07-22
Compelling story, but unfortunately, everything about the podcast is amateurish. The podcaster's questions to her interviewees are just mind numbingly banal, her repetitions about her many years of experience is childish, her soft baby-voice in the storytelling made my skin crawl because her voice in conversation is very normal, and her use of some expressions is ridiculous (i.e., the couple travelled"with their baby in tow"). Also, what's with the unnecessary sound effects? We know what running water and footsteps sound like. You really don't need to insert a sound effect for every word you say.
PS.
Could we all please, the love of everything sacred and holy, learn the difference between a hypothesis and a theory? 🤦🏻♀️

Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

EXCELLENT PODCAST
Revisado: 11-01-22
I have a Wondery+ membership and it is worth every cent! The app itself is excellent and far exceeds any other podcast app out there. I literally just here to share my feedback because I love this show so much! Sarah and Scaachi are just awesome! They do their homework, they tell stories perfectly, and the stay on topic - unlike almost every other podcast duos who eventually use their podcasts as a platform to air their own vapid personal-diary monologues.
Don't listen to the negative reviews. Honestly they all sound like the bitter whining of failed podcasters. 😂
PS. I am not affiliated with Wondery in any way. This is just the feedback from a very satisfied user. Thanks guys! Stay awesome! 🤍

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

I did not expect to get so thoroughly absorbed into this book, just because I rarely ever do, but I was instantly drawn in by the narrator - she was extraordinary! And soon afterwards, the storyline took over and I could not stop listening. I finished this book in TWO DAYS! It is absolutely incredible and I highly recommend it!

With a typical search warrant, police are supposed to knock and announce themselves. But with no-knock warrants, police can force their way into people’s homes without warning. This six-part investigative podcast from The Washington Post sheds light on how easy it is to plan, obtain and execute no-knock warrants — one of the most intrusive and dangerous police tactics. We explore the consequences when these warrants become the rule, rather than the exception. Hosted by investigative reporters Jenn Abelson and Nicole Dungca, “Broken Doors” is about how no-knock warrants are deployed in ...

Disappointing
Revisado: 10-25-22
For an investigative journalist from The Washington Post, this was rather disappointing. This is what I call pussyfooting-journalism. The journalist was frustratingly timid in her interview with that dingleberry sheriff. Why not confront him with what she already had and knew? Why cater to his blatant lies and giggle when he behaves inappropriately (i.e., trying to grab her notes)? I wish the New York Times had this story instead. They would have run marathons with it.

KC is the American Vigilante - A hugely complex, intelligent, contradictory man who could save your life but end it too. Who leads a group of violent men standing on the blurred line between right and wrong, between revenge and redemption. A man you want on your side when it all falls apart. American Vigilante is true crime, but so much more. It’s saving abducted children, it’s stepping beyond the law. It’s rescue missions, assassination attempts and last-gasp protection. It’s all the stuff you hope never comes to you, until it does. Former BBC Journalist Sam Walker presents this Crowd...

Wrong Genre
Revisado: 10-16-22
This should be filed under the Fiction/Mental Health genres, not True Crime! I would not have listened to it, but if I did, I would still give it a negative review!
The fact the one of the reviews actually compared this podcast to Serial is actually offensive! 🤦🏻♀️ This is a Brit housewife who moved to the US with her husband, got bored, discovered true-crime podcasts, met a delusional retired/unemployed/mental-asylum-runaway who sounds a lot like Trump, he fed her a load of crap about his imaginary vigilante alter ego which she believed, so she decided to have her own "true crime" podcast. Sam, I'm sorry petal but KC is full poo and you got got. 😂

This is podcast perfection! I absolutely loved everything about this podcast and I highly, very highly, recommend it. From the journey, to the narration, to the journalist's empathy, to the storytelling, this could not be better! I honestly do not understand how or why anyone would rate it under 5 stars.
Peter, thank you for the riveting journey and for your dedication! And Darrell, I wish you the best of everything that you pursue in life.
