Historia
In December of 1968, a serial killer began orchestrating a campaign of terror in the San Francisco Bay Area. Not satisfied with the simple act of murder, he taunted law enforcement and the public by writing letters to local newspapers. Through often cryptic and bizarre content - including four ciphers, three of which have never been solved - the psychopath played a twisted game.

All analysis of evidence and much speculation
Revisado: 03-12-25
Part 1 was amazing, but imagine watching a Led Zepplin bio that is all the information about where each piece of wood for a guitar came from, and the pilot information for who flew it to England. Much is spent analyzing the evidence in a vacuum without relaying it to the case. So dull.

Historia
Born Julius Marx in 1890, the brilliant comic actor who would later be known as Groucho was the most verbal of the famed comedy team the Marx Brothers, his broad slapstick portrayals elevated by ingenious wordplay and double entendre. In his spirited biography of this beloved American iconoclast, Lee Siegel views the life of Groucho through the lens of his work on stage, screen, and television.

All analysis of why things are funny.
Revisado: 01-07-22
This is another book that breaks down a scene and relates to other sources, history, psychology, and theory to explain why the Marx are funny. It reaches too much to make connections.

Historia
In the winter of 1918, at the height of World War I, history's most lethal influenza virus erupted in an army camp in Kansas, moved east with American troops, then exploded, killing as many as 100 million people worldwide. It killed more people in 24 weeks than AIDS has killed in 24 years, more in a year than the Black Death killed in a century. But this was not the Middle Ages, and 1918 marked the first collision between modern science and epidemic disease.

Too much medical information
Revisado: 04-27-21
The first 3 sections are all medical history, military history, and biographies. The information is presented well, but it takes too long to get to the......flu it's named after. The last 3 hours are not about the flu either.

doesn't cover many topics and goes on for 9 hours on the horror of anything from the last 40 years. everything is "corporate america" and how it ruined the world. nothing is called positive or favorable to the masses.

"For many years, friends and family have asked me, 'Bill, why don't you write a book about your life? You must have had quite a childhood growing up with your dad, Harpo, and those zany uncles of yours, the Marx Brothers. And what about those weird, maybe fatalistic happenings you've experienced that can only be described as 'too-Hollywood-to-believe?'" (Bill Marx)

music is often louder than narration.
Revisado: 04-20-15
The story is good, but the narration is often not clear because the clown and keyboard music is louder than the reading. there is also many instances where sound effects are unnecessarily used while reading.

Any additional comments?
This book is more about the author's feelings and story. He claims that the Zodiac is his father without really showing too much evidence to support this. He then goes off on how he felt about what the Zodiac did to him personally, which was simply abandon him. This book isn't about the Zodiac as much. The author simply tells the summary of the Zodiac killings and then explains what he did during these times. If you're interested in the Zodiac, read the Robert Graysmith book.
