You can tell this story was written by females
Revisado: 12-18-24
As I said in the title, you can tell this story was written by females. Ethan has some strong feminine traits. Namely an obsession with knowing the truth about everything and a sense of entitlement to everyone else's secrets, even though it's none of his business. Not to mention thinking everything is about him. These are the hallmarks of a female. Males typically do not care about family members or significant others keeping secrets from them, at least not to the point where we become hysterical when we find out they are. Ethan freaking out about Amma knowing Macon is not typical male behavior. Neither is Ethan believing that his father is simply hiding in his study because he doesn't want to see him. Maybe if Ethan was 9 or 10 he would have believed that, but a 16 year old male is plenty old enough to realize that his father is shattered by the death of his wife. If anything, a male that age would try to talk to his father and get him help. That whole self centered, entitled thing is 100% female.

Not as good as Davinci Code
Revisado: 12-13-24
What irritates me most is Langdon's lack of common sense, especially when his academic knowledge is so extinsive. He should have killed the Assassin at the fountain as soon as he was able to get a clear shot. No words and no warning. Shoot to kill. He knew he was dealing with a trained assassin. He also knew he was smart enough to find the Church of illumation by himself. His stupidity, hesitancy, and indecision is what cost the last of the Cardinals his life.

Extraordinary Selfishness
Revisado: 04-10-24
The amount of selfishness displayed by both Edward and Bella in this book is absolutely astonishing. Edward is the most selfish and controlling individual I have ever come across in literature. Either that, or he is a monument idiot. In what world is shattering someone mentally better than a couple of broken bones and near misses? I mean Jesus Christ, Edward keeps prattling on and on about how humans are able to change and get over things, when he has proof in his own family that that is not always true. Ésme tried to kill herself after her baby died. Edward doesn’t realize that there are things that you can do to someone that is worse than any physical torture or death. You can actually die from a broken heart. Then, we come to Bella. This has to be either the 15th or 20th time I have either read or listened to New Moon and I have come to this one conclusion about Bella in New Moon: She really did go crazy in this book and SHE DID TRY TO KILL HERSELF. Suicidal people are driven, not by the want of death but by the want to escape the pain they are in. Her actions fit that description. Her unwillingness to let go and her unwillingness to see how unhealthy her relationship with Edward really was the direct cause of her own pain. And thus, she created pain for the people left in her life that loved her.

Idiocy
Revisado: 02-15-24
The people in this book are beyond stupid, especially the woman. But then again, Michael Crichton had a habit of depicting women as being a little slow in his books.

Dr. Alan Grant
Revisado: 03-26-22
Towards the end of the book when Grant forced Gennaro to go to the raptor nest, it had nothing to do with counting how many raptors had hatched. Grant was full of crap. Going to the nest was nothing more than satisfying academic curiosity, and Grant's own fascination with Velociraptors. If anything, the Compy nests should have been inspected as the Compy was the only dinosaur where there was clear evidence that it had gotten off the island.

Revisado: 12-21-21
When Dumbledore assessed the Dursley's treatment of Harry since he came in their care and the abuse they inflicted on Dudley by spoiling him rotten, I thought that was one of the most memorable quotes from the entire series. Indeed maybe one of the most memorable quotes in modern literature.

Historia
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

Reaffirmations of Selfishness
Revisado: 08-08-20
This is a change from my original review, I’d like to focus a lot more on the actual story, or more accurately the entire saga of Bella and Edward. This story just further proves my assessment of both Bella and Edward. They are both extraordinarily selfish. They both have a habit of doing what THEY want and what makes THEM feel good without a thought to the people around them, and at times without even a thought of each other’s wishes. That last part is especially true of Edward, as brilliantly displayed in New Moon. Edward failed or maybe even refused to realize or acknowledge the scope and depth of Bella’s feelings for him. He failed to realize that there is more than one way to destroy a person and that there are things on this earth that are worse than death. He should have known that better than anyone, as he constantly thought of suicide whenever Bella’s life was in extreme danger. I don’t know what made him believe Bella would fare any better than him once he took himself out of her life. He acted according to what HE thought was best for Bella, Bella’s wishes be damned… Which leads us to Bella’s selfishness. She constantly acts without a second thought to how her actions affect the people around her. She used Jacob and played games with him emotionally, and then acted as if he was the worse person in the world when he fell in love with her. She constantly put her father through the ringer emotionally, as if his concern for his only child is nothing but an inconvenience, which when you think about it was extremely hypocritical seeing how maniacal she got when she became pregnant with Edward’s child. Which leads us to the most selfish part of the entire series, the pregnancy and the emergency vampirism that was needed because of it. She gave no thought to Edward, Jacob, or her parents at all. She chose the one person that she knew didn’t really give a damn about her to help her nearly kill herself. If I was Edward, I would have told Charlie the truth and let Bella explain to HIM why she was doing what she was doing.
