Suspense with a side of Romance
Revisado: 01-06-25
I think this cured my reading slump. While I enjoy a good romance book, I love a romance when there’s a mystery or suspense woven into the story. This fit the bill for me. I enjoyed Marsh and Levi’s relationship. I also enjoyed their working relationship and how they solved case. The only reason I knocked off one star is why they got married. That was a little far fetched but it’s a romance so I get it. I can’t wait for the next part of their story because I’m excited to see Marsh’s family now.

Great for new leaders
Revisado: 01-03-25
I started this book last year when I was new to management but chose to purchase the audio version as well. I liked the audiobook because it was easier to follow along and take in Brown’s words. This is a long book but for good reason. It helped me to get comfortable with being uncomfortable as a leader. Every day will not be perfect and that’s fine. If you want to improve your leadership skills, you need this book.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

I enjoyed everything about this book from the narration to the story being told. Noah is a great storyteller. I learned so much about South Africa through Noah’s eyes.

Slow Start
Revisado: 06-07-17
It took me several tries to get into this story. I blame the slow start on not reading a lot of fantasy books and the tone of the narrator. I've never listened to Skyler Morgan's work before so I was unfamiliar with the tone of his voice, which made me want to fall asleep. I don't think his voice is boring but it didn't make me want to stay awake.
Vocal performance aside, the story was really good. This is definitely one of the shorter stories I've listened to, which I am grateful for because I couldn't have lasted ten hours. The story was interesting and made me want to pay attention. I will definitely check out more of Richard Fierce's work but only in book or ebook form.

Outstanding Performance
Revisado: 11-22-16
This was definitely my favorite out of this series. The distinction between Alex and Nate's voices was clear. Unlike with the first story, I was never confused about who was speaking. I enjoyed both of their personal stories.

Good Story but Voice Performance Needs Work
Revisado: 11-17-16
I felt the overall story was great. This story has been sitting in my library for months. I'm glad I finally decided to listen to it. The only issue that bothered me was the inconsistent voice difference between Michael and Luke. In the beginning, Luke's was higher and Michael's was deeper. However, as the story progressed, Michael's voice started to get higher as well. There were a few moments when their voices was very similar. Other the voice issue, it was still a great story overall.

There's never been any question in Sean Tucker's mind that he'd do whatever it took to make it to the major leagues and be one of the best pitchers of his time. The day he acknowledged to himself that he was gay was also the day he vowed to stay in the closet in order to chase his dreams. The problem is, he never counted on Mason Atley.

Great Story but Slow Start
Revisado: 11-08-16
I almost gave up on this book in the first five minutes because I felt the beginning was too slow. I usually listen at 1x speed without any issue. However, Rain narrates way too slow for me to listen at that speed. Once I started listening at 1.25x speed, the storytelling got much better. I'm not a fan of long romance novels but this was good. It was a pleasant surprise.

A Better Than story. When Curt Townsend, a successful young DC lawyer, attends his first gay wedding, he doesn't expect anything more than a great evening out spent celebrating two lucky guys willing to commit to each other. He certainly doesn't anticipate meeting someone like Jack Farinelli.

Good Story, Inconsistent Accent
Revisado: 09-14-16
I enjoyed the story. I liked hearing about Jack's side of the story with his break up with Peter. I enjoyed finding out Jack and Curt's own background story. However, I did not like the inconsistent accents. Jack's voice switch from being very Southern to sounding like Christian Slater. I understand the character had gotten used to hiding his accent. However, the listener needs one consistent voice per character. Otherwise, the voices becomes muddled.

I've listened to this book at least half a dozen times. Paul Morey is one of my favorite narrators and once again he didn't disappoint. The story was great. This was the first book I listened/read addressing HIV. It's not a romantic topic but it's necessary in this day. I like how Tanner's love for Steve didn't change. I just really enjoy this book and can't wait to listen to the first book in this series.
