Historia
In The Cadaver King and the Country Dentist, Radley Balko and Tucker Carrington write a true story of Southern Gothic horror - of two innocent men wrongly convicted of vicious crimes and the legally condoned failures that allowed it to happen. Balko and Carrington will shine a light on the institutional and professional failures that allowed this tragic, astonishing story to happen, identify where it may have happened elsewhere, and show how to prevent it from happening again.

This is an amazingly well researched and well documented story. Many parts are completely heartbreaking! But it is very hard to listen to in audible format. There is just too much information to try and process and categorize and keep straight. Since it is a story about many different cases, I would get confused about who they were talking about...and which bad guy was in on which case. It got to be too much. I love the fact that these stories are being published...I just think next time I will buy the book instead.

Better than I anticipated, but...
Revisado: 12-18-15
What did you love best about Mr. Beautiful?
I really loved getting more of the back story of the main characters...especially of the early days of Stephan and Bianca.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Stephan - I felt his pain and enjoyed experiencing the growth of his character.
What does Jason Clarke bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I enjoyed having the story read by a strong male voice - BUT - shame on everyone and anyone who didn't help him stay true to the characters...STEVEN??? Seriously??? His name is Stephan - pronounced Steff - ahn - and the fact that the producer didn't notice or didn't care that one of the main characters name was changed in this book just ticked me off every time the narrator said the name. It just seems like such a stupid oversight and when you have listeners who really love a character it's like a slap in the face!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Bianca. We both loved her...we both needed her...we both protected her.
Any additional comments?
I have really enjoyed this series and have listened to the first 3 books several times. The one thing I thought was missing was some of the back story to round out character development and this 4th book gave me that. So...bravo to RK Lilley

Revisado: 02-18-14
Where does Letting Go rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The storyline was OK. I got invested in the female character fairly early in the book. The male character was harder for me to embrace at first.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I liked the storyline of the girlfriends - liked how they only wanted what would make Joss happy, even if they didn't understand it. I can see how the next installments will go (which is a plus and a minus)
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Alix Dale?
Anyone - her narration was terrible. A cross between too breathless and sounded like she was plugging her nose. So contrived ...to try and sound sexy...but only sounded ridiculous! Please tell me this is not her normal voice! I would have much preferred someone like Jill Redfield.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Since I too am a widow, the scene where she went to his grave to tell him that she was moving on but would always love him really hit home to me.
Any additional comments?
This is brain candy (which I love - don't get me wrong)...but it is not Ms. Banks best work. Still, I will stay tuned for the next installment.

Revisado: 08-07-13
Would you listen to Always on My Mind again? Why?
I'm sure I will listen to it again at some point. When I need a soft and whimsical love story, I always turn to one of the Sullivan books.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Always on My Mind?
All the moments with Mo/Sweetpea were poignant...and I love the barn dance.
What about Eva Kaminsky’s performance did you like?
I like the cadence of her reading. She is very easy to listen to.
Any additional comments?
I was waiting for "Naughty's" story...so much was hinted at in the last book and I knew that she had to have been in a bad relationship. I think the author found the perfect man for her!

Johanna Walker is used to taking charge. But she’s about to meet someone who will make her lose control....
It has always been up to Johanna to care for her family, particularly her younger brother, Cole. With an absent father and a useless mother, she’s been making decisions based on what’s best for Cole for as long as she can remember. She even determines what men to date by how much they can provide for her brother and her, not on whatever sparks may - or may not - fly. But with Cameron MacCabe, the attraction is undeniable....

Love...love...loved it!!!
Revisado: 06-11-13
Where does Down London Road rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's ranks in my top ten...maybe in my top five!
What other book might you compare Down London Road to and why?
It's the second in the series that started with On Dublin Street. It is similar in style and yet very different in content from that book!
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was the night she broke up with Malcolm and then went to Cameron's apartment. They were sizzling hot together and I loved it when she said "I broke up with Malcolm" and he said "I know, you wouldn't be here otherwise". I loved the chemistry between these two!!!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Jo told the cab driver "my people are on Dublin street". She finally realized that she had friends in her life who loved her and would do anything to help her!
Any additional comments?
I hope there are more books in this series. I love the narrator - Elle Newlands - she drew me in and made the characters come alive for me. I have read some reviews where her accent has been dissected and found wanting...I have never been to Scotland and so I don't know what the accent should sound like...but it sure works for me the way she delivers it!!!

Historia
The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires.... From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside - so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat. No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

Not as good as it should have been
Revisado: 06-10-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Entwined With You to be better than the print version?
Jill is the perfect narrator for this book for me. I love the timber of her voice and I could listen to her read the phone book! I have not read the printed version...so I can't speak to that.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
In my opinion, Sylvia should have kept this story as a trilogy as was originally planned. This book didn't really add anything to the overall story that couldn't have been shortened and put in a final book. The other thing I would have changed was to have left out at least one or two of the additional stumbling blocks she threw up between Gideon and Ava. No couple could be THAT unlucky. After awhile, it got to be ridiculous. They need a break in between catastrophes!
Which character – as performed by Jill Redfield – was your favorite?
Gideon
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No...as usual with these characters, I need to take it in small chunks. This series touched something in me. I am emotional about the characters...and when really bad things happen, I have to turn off the ipod and give it a rest before I can go back and pick it up again.
Any additional comments?
I have to say that Ava bugged me in this book. I felt that at the end of Reflected in You, Ava was more mature and less needy and impulsive. She took a giant step backwards for me in this book...her reactions to Brett really pushed some buttons for me and not in a good way. She seemed to jump all over the place in this book...sometimes level headed, sometimes ditzy or bitchy for no reason. Then when there seemed to be a reason to be bitchy, she backed off. I wish her character could sustain a level of maturity...it sometimes makes me feel bad for Gideon that she isn't the strong level-headed kick-ass wife he needs. But I will surely be back for the next installment in this story. I'm addicted to Gideon just as badly as Ava is!

Worst narrator EVER
Revisado: 06-04-13
What did you like best about Duty to Please? What did you like least?
It is hard for me to review this collection of short stories. I think that the stories were just what I expected. Short, fun, sexy, just a bit of brain candy for a day when I didn't want to have to think too much. Having said that, the narrator made it almost impossible for me to listen to the book. Words mispronounced...zero emotion...an odd cadence...and (for me anyway) one of the most annoying voices I can imagine! Even though this was a very inexpensive purchase...and I wasn't expecting a masterpiece...this is going to be my very first EVER return to Audible. It was quite simply...awful. The authors of these short stories were done a great disservice by the publisher who chose this narrator.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Get a narrator that could evoke some emotion...any emotion
Would you be willing to try another one of Pepper Street’s performances?
No...no...no
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
no - it is a collection of short stories and there is not enough content for a movie

Gideon Cross: As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction…my every desire…mine. My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful…except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession.…

Book #2 continues the magic!
Revisado: 03-05-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes...yes...a thousand times yes!!! If you are a fan of the genre, I don't think it gets much better.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Reflected in You?
The most memorable moment was in the car when he confessed what happened to him as a child. I cried...actually cried while driving home from work. My husband thought something terrible had happened to me and I couldn't explain why I was so upset over a book!
Which scene was your favorite?
I love every scene with Cary...even if he is being bad. I want a roommate like him...someone who will do my hair and help me pick out clothes...someone who will love me warts and all and be my friend for the rest of my life!!!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The car scene I already mentioned...and then the scene at the very end. I cannot wait for the next book!!!

Fifty Shades who?
Revisado: 03-05-13
Would you listen to Bared to You again? Why?
OMG - I think I have listened to this book 3 times already and have replayed moments many times more. I absolutely LOVE these two characters. I have been sucked into their world and hang on every moment they share. They are broken...by a similar past...and they are drawn together even when they are not sure they want to be.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Bared to You?
Well...the sex is steamy hot...but I really like the moments when they are just together...quiet...having dinner or talking. It's in these moments that I fall in love with them a bit more each time.
Have you listened to any of Jill Redfield’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Not prior to this series...but she has nailed it on this title and the next one in the series.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book made me laugh - cry - scream - you name it. I haven't had this extreme of a reaction to a book in a long time.
Any additional comments?
If you are a fan of Fifty Shades, in my opinion, this book is a much better read. The narrator is certainly much better...and the characters are so well developed. If you are like me, you will be intensely angry at these characters one moment...and then cheering for them the next. I cannot wait for the 3rd book in this series!!!

With The Look of Love, best-selling author Bella Andre introduces you to a fun and emotional contemporary romance series about the Sullivan family. Because when a Sullivan bad boy falls... he falls hard. And it's forever. Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she's convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her must be too good to be true. Or is he?

Wonderful love story!
Revisado: 03-04-13
What did you love best about The Look of Love?
The setting (a winery) - the male character (a photographer) - and the female character (a battered woman intent on making her own way) are a recipe for fun...and the author does not disappoint! This is my first Bella Andre book, but it won't be my last...book 2 and book 3 of the Sullivans are already on my wish list!
What other book might you compare The Look of Love to and why?
It reminded me a bit of Sarah Mayberry's "All over you" - in that the female lead had been totally burned before and needed a lot of space and tenderness before she was willing to lay it all on the line again.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Chase Sullivan's patience and genuine caring really touched me. He was such a wonderful and kind character...and yet the author was able to make him a strong exciting male lead at the same time.
Any additional comments?
I am already looking forward to book 2 (Marcus's story). The author did a great job of only giving me a tiny peek into his character and making me drool for more!
