The creation of Putinism
Revisado: 01-23-19
Who is Vladimir Putin and how did he rise to power, absolute power? He has been incredibly consistent and positions/actions he takes today are incredibly predictable. He is a master of his own fate and has linked it to the resurgence and strength of Russia. It is an epic modern tale of Machiavellian leader acting defiantly against the Western version of world order.

Historia
Every day, we find ourselves in gatherings, Priya Parker says in The Art of Gathering. If we can understand what makes these gatherings effective and memorable, then we can reframe and redirect them to benefit everyone, host and guest alike. Parker defines a gathering as three or more people who come together for a specific purpose. When we understand why we gather, she says - to acknowledge, to learn, to challenge, to change - we learn how to organize gatherings that are relevant and memorable.

Gathering don’t happen by chance, nor are they effective by chance!

Found!
I learned a lot about myself in this how to guide for gatherings. It made me think about why I gather and how to be deliberate In order to achieve the reason it occurred in the first place. It codified why gatherings work and don’t work. It is an important read if you enjoy bringing people together to accomplish anything, whether it’s deepening relationships with friend, colleagues or strangers. Great read for one wishing to be more deliberate and effective.

Revisado: 12-17-17
This book covers so much ground that it will require a re-read with a highlighter! The starting proposition and philosophy is to give more than you get. This will propel society and the human condition forward. The optimism he shares is encouraging and contagious. He then delves into insights both general and specific that will change your view of the world and what is to come. This is a great book for anyone interested in the future which should be everyone.

The ad apocalypse is upon us. Today millions are downloading ad-blocking software, and still more are paying subscription premiums to avoid ads. Make no mistake, Madison Avenue: Traditional advertising as we know it is over.

Historia
It’s 2011, and Samuel Andresen-Anderson—college professor, stalled writer—has a Nix of his own: his mother, Faye. He hasn’t seen her in decades, not since she abandoned the family when he was a boy. Now she’s re-appeared, having committed an absurd crime that electrifies the nightly news, beguiles the internet, and inflames a politically divided country. The media paints Faye as a radical hippie with a sordid past, but as far as Samuel knows, his mother was an ordinary girl who married her high-school sweetheart.
