Refreshing view of why and how to date!
Revisado: 03-27-25
Sam’s approach to dating is applicable to all of life- be real and honest while being interested in the big life stories of others. I found his approach very freeing and helpful, less formulaic than most dating books. He breaks the mold that dating and finding the one is all about me and the life I want to craft. I had been finding the cultural mindset sickening of: “this person is the right one because they make me feel or add this good thing to my life or understand me so well”. Sam explains so well why this mindset focused on me doesn’t work. Instead he inspires a different goal of seeing other people as just as important as myself- which makes dating a celebration rather than a game.

All My Knotted-Up Life is a beautifully crafted portrait of resilience and survival, a poignant reminder of God’s enduring faithfulness, and proof positive that if we ever truly took the time to hear people’s full stories . . . we’d all walk around slack-jawed.

So thankful
Revisado: 03-02-23
I needed this book. Beth Moore has been such a fixture in my growing up world of faith. To hear her life story told both so encourages me and so humbles me. Thank you for sharing what God has done, Beth!

Such a freeing, timely message!! Especially the last chapter. This book has been such a helpful capstone to my recent topical reading of 2 other books on the topic of our bodies! I’ll be sharing this one with friends!

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

What a book!
Revisado: 12-30-17
Aside from the prolific use of profanity, this is an incredible story told in a rambling non-chronological method. Some stories are funny, some raw and painful, some explanatory of a nation. The life lessons and wisdom that Trevor shares yield a applicable take-away to the storyline! Hearing Trevor speak the multiple languages and recount the accents of his speakers is a rich and added dimension! I’ve learned so much about culture and race and language through Trevor’s story.
