The Narration is Whiny

DNF. I'm not a fan of whiny a lead female character. She cried about almost everything and made crap so much harder than it had to be. The story had great promise, but it seemed like the author wanted to use a many words as humanly possible.

My bigggest pet peeve with media and books is stupid main characters. I had so much hope for this book because it started out strong and interesting.
However, when main characters make decisions that are clearly irrationally and unrealistic I lose interest quick. Not only did the main character stay in an unrealistic dangerous situation, the person she called could've said three words to end the already dangerous situation. That was 15 minutes of narration that could've been 2 minutes, and wouldn't have made her look like a basic b. In the very next chapter she buts herself, again, in a situation that's unsafe. uuughhh.... women aren't that stupid. Please stop portraying is that way.

I think I might like this series better than the first one. As soon as it was in my library, I listened to it the whole way thru. When it was done, I immediately pre-bought the 3 book. I can't wait

A lot of repeating

Great story, however could've been 2 hours shorter if all the repeating lines/narratives didn't keep repeating over and over again.

I got this book during a promo and didn't really have high hopes that I would enjoy it, since I'm more into syfi.
However, once I started it. I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the rest of the series to come out.

cringly predictable

At the beginning of the book, I was very hopeful for a good story. The narration, I'm sure, is what kept me hooked for the first half. After the third eye roll, because it's quite apparent what's coming next, I just had to turn it off.

There is really nothing special or interesting about this story. Even the spicy parts were vanilla and expected. It was a good storyline and could've been better.

Not Impressed

By chapter 5, I was done with the book. Not sure if it was the narration or the annoying heroine. It was a lot of screeching, and the heroine being hard headed for no reason. I rolled my eyes way too much, way too soon.

The story is good and interesting, however the because of the narration I will be reading the rest of the book instead of listening to it. I only made it to chapter 3 before calling it quits.
