Great Story Telling

This story was 5 stars for me until the end, which was satisfying in that it connected several aspects of the story into a neat bow. On the other hand, the ending was unsatisfying because it felt rushed. Wendy is an outstanding writer. The story flows effortlessly. The confidence in her writing ability is apparent in the invisibility of her writing techniques. In other words, she doesn't use technique as a crutch. Her narration, dialog, characters, and events like "Boil Overs" felt genuinely real. She even made the supernatural feel real. In these areas, Wendy achieved the best writing I read in a while. That's saying a lot since I go through 20 to 50 novels a year.

Plot Holes

If you like action and good pacing without concern for even an adequate plot, this could be a 4 star book for you. This story is often entertaining and has good pacing for the most part. Half the plot holes do get filled after fact. The protagonist is probably the most cowardly in the whole of nonfiction. Some good imaginative ideas are presented. I survived the book till the end but was happy when it was over.

3rd installment

Satisfying conclusion to the series. But not as good as the 1st two. A lot of the action while entertaining felt forced in this 3rd book.

Hits on All Cylinders

Merely OK for the 1st half or so. But by the end you will realize that every decision by the author was carefully thought out. I would give this 10 of 10. For me that's rare. The plot twists are brilliant and u won't see them coming. There's nothing Kristoff cannot do as a writer.

Surprisingly Good

The best fantasy novel I've read in 6 years. Lots of action , detailed sex scenes, good world building, outstanding prose and metaphors, excellent dialog, memorable characters and character development. In general a girl takes on a mentor to train as an assassin in order to one day seek revenge.

Myth Brought To Life

A little slow for 2 or 3 chapters. After that the novel was quite enjoyable. The story follows the life of the Greek goddess Circe. Many known characters from Greek myths appear. The author deftly weaves an ancient world with modern dialog and modern writing that makes well known God's and heroes more accessible than ever before. Well done.

Outstanding Read

Ray Porter deserves a Spoken Word award for his narration of this book. Outstanding performance. He deftly handles humor, emotions, and character voices. The is story too is a success. If you enjoyed Weir's prior works you will love Project Hail Mary.

Unique Read

Unique story line. Refreshing. The story is good from beginning to about two 3rds in. The Last 3rd is very good. While the ending is not surprising, it is also not predictable until after the climax.
