I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book when I started it. What I didn’t expect is deep thoughts, laugh out loud stories, and big life lessons. Listen to this book. You won’t be disappointed!

As a woman in the financial industry, I found the discovery call and sales scripts to be extremely valuable! I just wish the audio production was better. There were variations in the audio and places where it was choppy. But I'm glad I tolerated it, because there's definitely money making gold nuggets in this book!

I've always thought that there were two types of people in the world: honest people and liars. But there are many shades of gray when it comes to being truthful. I appreciate that the author was transparent about her own honesty journey and what she learned about herself. "Would I Lie to You" covers the vast array of social interactions - family dynamics, romantic relationships, career, friendships, and being honest with yourself. The author explains why we sometimes lie and why we sometimes should. "Would I Lie to You" opened my eyes to the fact that I'm not quite as honest as I'd like to believe, and I have room to come up higher.

If you like Matt Bellassai's "Wine About It" BuzzFeed videos, you'll definitely enjoy this book. I listened to the audio version because I love to hear comedians read their books in their own voices, and this one did not disappoint.

As usual, Matt says out loud all of the inappropriate things that we're all thinking in our heads but are too polite to vocalize. If you've ever been the nerd, the clumsy one, the fat kid, or the outcast, you'll relate to and laugh along with his tales of shame and awkwardness. I feel a little bad for Matt that he's been all of those. But then I remember that he's famous and has almost 700,000 Facebook fans, so never mind. I don't feel sorry for him at all.

(In truth, I was able to meet Matt Bellassai in person at a book signing and he is truly a super nice human.)

Starting stuff is easy; it's the finishing that's hard. In this book, Jon Acuff gives the short cuts and counter-intuitive tricks (like cutting your goal in half) for beating back the monsters of perfectionism and procrastination. If you're tired of overly-caffeinated gurus shouting at you to "Embrace the grind!" and "Sleep when you're dead!" this is the book for you. Jon Acuff has just the right blend of encouragement and wry humor to keep you laughing, engaged, and excited about finishing your goals. If you have pounds to lose, a book to write, a business to start, or a house to declutter, "Finish" will help you do just that!

This is a must listen for both aspiring authors and those who have already published a book or two. I published my first book, Money is Emotional, about 6 months ago and I wish I had read this sooner. I've incorporated many of the suggestions discussed by Sean and Johnny and they have inspired me to write more often. Plus the narrator is a joy to listen to, with a swoon-worthy English accent.

As a fan of Kevin Hart's comedy, I knew this would be a hilarious listening experience, which it was. What I didn't expect were the life lessons, touching moments, and raw honesty threaded throughout his funny stories. I laughed, I got a little teary, I said OMG! But that's life, right? I've always been a fan of Kevin Hart's comedy; now I'm a fan of Kevin Hart.

Where does Scrappy Little Nobody rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I mostly listen to self-improvement and business audiobooks, so this was a fun change from my norm.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I've always loved Anna in her acting roles, and it was a wonderful revelation that she's so down to earth and relatable - and freaking hilarious. (Will you be my new best friend??)

What about Anna Kendrick’s performance did you like?

I love that Anna read this herself because her feisty, smart ass humor shines through.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud despite having my earbuds in, and scared the crap out of my husband and cats on multiple occasions.

Any additional comments?

Fun and enjoyable book that I will likely listen to again.
