Historia
Deputy coroner Mattie Winston knows everyone in the charmingly small town of Sorenson, Wisconsin - except the latest body discovered in a desolate field. If a woman this attractive had moved into town, the news would have surely hit the gossip mill in record time. So who was the murdered femme fatale? Whose knife was left planted in her chest? The mystery deepens when detective Steven Hurley takes one look at the body and turns as white as the newly fallen snow...and excuses himself from the case.

She spoke in monotone. No fluctuation in voices. Hated Hurley's voice. Got used to it.

Historia
Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-02-15
The story was just so so. I listened distractedly to the last half because I wanted to see "who dunit". The male narrator had a good voice but I had difficulty telling one person from another and the narrator's part. The female narrator was totally annoying. Her voice was not pleasant to listen to and she sounded the same with each character.

Compelling
Revisado: 04-22-15
This is my second Joyce listen. While I like her style and find her stories interesting, Perfect was sometimes difficult to listen to because I could see the train wreck coming. But I was compelled to keep listening - I found I HAD to. I like that she does have a resolution at the end - thankfully. After a break from her, I will listen to another of her books. Cannot say enough about the narrator - outstanding. Over the top!

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

Really good, but dark.
Revisado: 04-13-15
The story pulled me in and I was hooked. Sometimes it was a little difficult to listen to - some of the characters seemed bent on self destruction. But that was what made the story. Narrator did wonderful job. Pleasant voice. If you want a happy ending, don't listen. If you want a good book, then do.

Good Book
Revisado: 02-06-15
The story was fast moving but too detailed at times. I think a person who is interested in weapons would be okay with those details. There were surprises throughout. Nathan is a great character. I thought the narrator did a terrible job at the female voices. Plus they all sounded alike to me. He was good with men's parts.
