Although the print edition states this is a work of fiction, it’s clear the author lived through these nightmares and by his incredible strength of character and sheer determination triumphed over a a childhood of neglect and abuse because of his mother’s drug addiction. This is an honest, from-the-heart memoir of transformation.

I’m an audiobook narrator who loves when authors write with audio in mind. It really does make a difference. Jules Horne’s solid and easily actionable advice ensures your book flows beautifully in audio plus makes you a better writer. Her performance is engaging and deliberate, allowing the listener to absorb the information and examples. Highly recommend this audiobook!

I loved, loved, loved this audiobook! Orkin’s clever framing device for James Flynn’s adventures (JF is a patient in a mental hospital believing himself in Her Majesty’s Secret Service); the not-too-subtle homage to Cervantes' Don Quixote with naming a reluctant, pudgy sidekick Sancho and the beautiful but troubled damsel-in-distress Dulci(nea); action-packed getaway and fight scenes peppered with James Bond panache and Punch-and-Judy humor; tender, heart-felt moments that highlight Flynn’s empathy: all are brought to sharp relief in Ciulla’s deftly-crafted, multi-accented and stunning performance. I may just have to listen to this again!

Tangofish, a coming-of-age tale of a high school senior unable to deal with death of her best friend, is deftly and sensitively written by Carol Anne Shaw with sweet, heartfelt narration by Kaitlyn Piatti who immediately draws the listener into Tango’s world. Shaw draws a complex character in Tango who navigates a maze of darker and unpleasant things as the love of caring family and supportive friends guide her to a place of strength and self-awareness.
