Ridley does a great job encapsulating why the world is on an upward trend despite the screeching mobs proclaiming inevitable destruction. There's a reason so many people give this book as a gift.

This is an interesting topic for those who want to know more about their daily ritual. Like all of Pollan's work, he know how to hook you early to strap in for a deeper dive. Started fast but did taper off. That's OK though, it's a brief listen.

Spoiler Alert: I didn't listen to the whole thing

This book centers around business and cutting edge technology. These are both areas of interest I have and so I jumped into this with high hopes, boy was I disappointed. I could barely make it through the first couple of chapters. The voice acting was off cue and seemed confused. Almost like a scatter shot of attempts at trying to figure out who the characters are. I suppose that's because the dialog is one dimensional and filled with trite expressions. I'm tricked I wasted a credit on this. Usually I listen to nonfiction so this was a gamble on multiple fronts. For me it became unlistenable so fast that I finally had to admit what this experience really was, a mistake. I feel duped. Live and learn.

Fast update on a childhood fascination

If you were like me you loved reading about dinosaurs and staring at the colorful illustrations in books depicting their ancient world. As the years passed I stopped digging through books and just read occasional articles and news headlines about fossil discoveries from around the world. Well get ready for a much needed update to your understanding of our ancient friends. Transformational changes have taken place in our evidence and understanding of the time when dinos roamed. The audio is great and takes you from the English coast to labs studying micro fossilized specimens. I'm getting ready to listen again!

Thought provoking vision

Although parts of this story may seem bleak it is at it score of vision of change and hope. No matter your political perspective, it's time to grapple with the facts on the ground. That's what Yang attempts to do here. Persuasive.

Great business thriller

This story reads like a fiction Thriller but is actually the true account of a dangerous manipulator from Silicon Valley. It's fast-paced and grabs you from the start. Don't worry there are no slow parts in this because it just keeps building and building. An inside account of a house of cards that put real people at risk.

Unexpected gem

Don't miss this one. Although this was from 1988 it holds up surprisingly well. Sometimes the narrative is a little off but it does not detract from the overall story which is magnificent. Buy it now.
