Historia
Scarred from his past, Rollan is judged by his appearances, making every woman of his court flee from his very presence...until Princess Ellen arrives. Ellen has her own scars and feels a connection to the King in a way that she has never felt before, but Rollan's pride and cruelty might ruin everything. For both of them. This story will take you through a journey of love that has never been told before. *This book is a clean romance.

Story needs work
Revisado: 04-12-25
I wanted to like this audiobook more than I did. While The Scarred King has a promising premise, the execution—both in narration and story depth—left something to be desired.
First, the virtual voice used in the audiobook is not ideal. If you're going to use AI narration, it really helps to have different voices for different characters, especially when switching between male and female perspectives. Hearing a female voice attempt to portray a gruff male character (or vice versa) without any variation is distracting and takes away from the immersion.
Second, the story itself feels a bit too simple. It starts off well and has potential, but it lacks the depth and complexity to truly hook the listener. Characters could use more development, and the plot would benefit from richer world-building and more tension.
Overall, this feels like a decent first draft of a series that could evolve into something stronger with more polish. I hope future installments improve in both audio quality and narrative depth.

Historia
Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Historia
At the end of one world, there always lies another. Safire, a soldier, knows her role in this world is to serve the king of Firgaard—helping to maintain the peace in her oft-troubled nation. Eris, a deadly pirate, has no such conviction. Known as the Death Dancer for her ability to evade even the most determined of pursuers, she possesses a superhuman power to move between worlds. Now Safire and Eris—sworn enemies—find themselves on a common mission: to find Asha, the last Namsara.

Tired of the alphabet
Revisado: 02-08-25
I hate that every book or series has someone from the alphabet! The first two book in this series was great.
