Very interesting story

This is a very interesting story about a group of trend traders from the 70s. It was a different time but the principles still apply. This is not a book that’s going to teach you how to trend follow or make a million $. This is a true story that follows a group of traders on their successful career paths. The book seemed well researched with interviews from the “turtles” who actually participated in these events. This is a very interesting read about a fascinating chapter in financial history.

Terrible and biased views

First of all it’s not a book. It’s basically a podcast. A podcast that’s full of biased views and some really bad advice. Don’t believe me? Just skip to the last chapter.

This “book” was free and I will be returning it, don’t waste your time.

Be careful which information you take from this book

This book contained some good information and helpful techniques but it also contained a lot of garbage. Be mindful of your takeaways because they may actually decrease your charisma....For example there are numerous references to displacing blame and using your imagination to remove yourself from an uncomfortable situation. This may help short term but to have true charisma you must OWN the situation and be fully comfortable without "imagining you are somewhere else or that something weird is happening to your audience"

In addition to the periodic bad advice, this book doesn't lend itself well to the audible format. There are numerous exercises included that can't be performed while driving, walking, or doing many other tasks one performs while listening to audible.

Finally the editing is just garbage. Many of the chapters cut off mid paragraph and a few of them even cut off mid sentence. Really annoying when you have the timer pause after each chapter to break it up.

I returned this book, there has to be a better book on charisma out there.

Who wants a mustache ride?

This is a great book if you're fans of broken lizards. Jay provides a detailed behind the scenes look at his career and shares a lot of on set secrets and stories about his movies. Very entertaining read and the narration is excellent. This book makes me want to go back and watch all of their movies again, especially Super Troopers which of course is the best movie ever made!

I always like to support these guys, they are always entertaining. Keep up the good work, I can't wait until the release of Super Troopers 2.

Difficult to decipher fact from fiction

I purchased this book thinking I would learn some useful information about global economics, but instead what I got was a hard to believe story littered with left wing propaganda.

I'm sure there is truth to some of the stories outlined in this book but it difficult to decipher the truth from the padded stories that lack any real facts or research. The author tells his story with a very biased and anti-capitalist theme. I really tried to give this book a chance but I just couldn't get past the left wing agenda and constant jabs against capitalism and the Republican Party. The last straw was when the author quoted an article from Vanity Fair as fact. This is the first audible book I just could not finish.

The authors points would have been much more valid had he left out his biased views and left wing agenda. The only good part about this audio book was the narration.

It really is a shame. If you have a basic understanding of global economics then some of the authors points make great sense. This book could have been so much better if the author just stuck to the facts and presenting the story without trying to push his agenda on to the reader.

I will be returning this one to audible and getting another book that's less politically driven.

Excellent overview of hedge funds

If you are interested in learning more about hedge funds, this is the book you need to listen to.

I've been a fan of Anthony Scaramucci for some of his other work in the alternative investment world. I watch his show Wall Street Week every Friday on Fox. Mr Scaramucci is very connected within this industry. He shares his first hand knowledge of hedge funds in a detailed and easy to digest layout in this book.

It's a great read whether you are interested in investing, working in, or just getting more knowledge about this fascinating alternative investment vehicle. It's all laid out here in great detail and pulls back the curtain of this largely secretive industry.

As an added bonus, Mr Scaramucci includes a short interview with select "hedge fund legends" at the end of most of the chapters which provide some candid information on how they got started in the industry and their outlook on its future.

Excellent Book!

This is an amazing book. In each chapter Jocko and Leif outline an incredible story from their military career, discuss lessons learned, and then apply these lessons to real world business applications.

Every chapter is riveting. The authors do an excellent job on the narration. This book provides a very unique outlook that ties military ops to business ops. It's a great read with a lot of very useful information.
