Not a very bright hero

I was often going 'Urgh, how dumb is this guy' when Fitz was stumbling head first into a trap. It's like the author gave him no survival instincts or critical thinking skills. He literally couldn't sense danger if it landed on his head and tried to kill him. So many times his words or actions made me lose respect for him. The character development was non existent, I know he is the 'catalyst', but that doesn't mean he should be a flat character. The wolf was very cool though

Proper laugh out loud stuff

This guy could be your best friend. Everyone needs a Seth Rogen in their lives. Of course him telling the stories just makes the whole thing so much funnier!

Fun and entertaining. Until it isn't

If you are going to consume this book, then getting the audio book is absolutely the only way. Will Smith is an excellent narrator, and along with the music and the added effects, he really brings his story to life.

One of the first things Will Smith tells us about himself is how he tells a story. How, when he shares an experience with the family, they will turn to someone who is part of the story to provide the real, unembellished version. His tells us that his imagination adds details that don't necessarily change the gist of the incident, but makes it more fun and entertaining... and this can be a bit distracting at times. There are a couple of stories where I felt that the people's reactions and dialogue implausible.

The whole book was great, until it wasn't. His recounting of his childhood, early fame, movie career is not only interesting, but so nostalgic. My life seems to be punctuated with Will Smith's artistic creations. From his early music to his last movie, I have enjoyed it all. But then he goes into a self-indulgent spiral. It's like a family member who has started going for counseling and can't stop talking about their new perception of their life, their childhood, every relationship. It goes on and on and on, like he is convincing himself that he is on good path. The book suffers for it. I found myself getting impatient with the book, just wanting it to be over. The last few chapters were for him, and not for his fans.

I was not expecting this!

So Jimmy Carr wrote a book. I love Jimmy Carr! He is so funny. I expected his book to be a 6 hr stand up show. What I didn't expect is an amazingly insightful, clever, HELPFUL, touching, emotional self-help book that hits all the right marks. This book is way more than I expected - and it is still laugh out loud funny. I can't recommend this book enough!

I wish this book existed 30 years ago

I had never heard of Daniel Sloss until I heard him on the Conan podcast and decided to get this book. Now I strongly believe that this book should be required reading for anyone in their twenties (or 30s, 40s, 50s). His outlook on relationships is so important to understand, I have given this book to my adult kids to read because he explains everything in such a charming (if you ignore the rimming references) and clever way. It is also very funny and deep and emotional. I really loved it,

Making Education so much fun

So obviously Stephen Fry's performance is absolutely sublime, he really is a joy to listen to.
But the story is crazy and fun and so interesting. Stephen really knows how to bring history alive. I learned so much, and enjoyed every second of it. He is a genius with language, he uses words like a real artist. I feel myself getting clever as I listen to the fascinating way he puts sentences together. I want more!

I have never fallen so in love with fictional char

Simon Vance is a genius. Along with Stephen Fry, he is by far my favorite narrator. Perfect for bringing to life the amazing characters in the Lightbringer series. Brent weeks have created characters so believable, flawed and strong that it comes within a hairs breath of being a self help book. I love that they act like real people. The story is sublime. I was genuinely sad when it ended.

Interesting, Entertaining and so funny

This should come with several warnings:
1) This is completely addictive, I cannot stop listening to these three and their (sometimes) bewildered guest
2) You will laugh out loud, lots. The chemistry between the hosts is so much fun, always ripping each other off, and the guests just lean into that and its so funny (especially Ricky!)
3) They really have the best guests! Always looking forward to the next episode!
This is one of the good things that happened in 2020!

Honest, Ernest and entertaining

I started listening to this book to listen Arnold the bodybuilder and Arnold the Actor.. But I fell in love with Arnold the person. Hearing his political views from the 'enemy' camp was insightful and brought me closer to understand the frustrations of the opposition party. The only sad thing is that it was written in 2012. I would love to hear his life in the last 8 years!
