I love this series

and according to the interwebs, this is only 1/3 of the story. As always, the narrator is superb and has pretty ruined all other audio books for me. I am delighted to keep the story going by reading it online.

The narrator is so talented. there's a ton of different characters and they all have unique voices. the story is extremely in depth and well written. pirate aba has an excellent vocabulary.

First off, the narrator is hands-down the best narrator I've heard on this platform. This book has A LOT of characters and each one had their own inflections and accent. Very talented individual. Secondly, I love a long adventure, it's more bang for my credit, and 40 hours is pretty epic. Well written, the author is great at world building and has an excellent vocabulary. I love the premise of the book and it is a great story. Lastly there wasn't any spice, which I found quite refreshing. Can't wait to listen to the entire series, I hope it's all the same narrator.

Besides the narrator's cadence being unnaturally halty, she pronounces the MAIN CHARACTER'S name totally different than the narrator of the previous 2 books. Utter failure and incredibly distracting. Sticking with it because I enjoy this story.

Surprised me

I enjoy the Nora Jacob series so it was easy for me to give Shayne a try. I hated her at first, but she grew on me & I'll definitely keep with this series. It is nice to see a different perspective of this Detroit universe, & while there are familiar characters, this is mostly new people & a new story with a few tie ins. I definitely recommend, just get past chapter 5.
