A sweet and sensitive book
Revisado: 03-06-21
Perhaps the most powerful, tender, funny book on love and loss I have ever read. Oh, there’s crimes to solve too.
Could be my favorite book ever

Historia
C. P. Ellis grew up in the poor white section of Durham, North Carolina, and as a young man joined the Ku Klux Klan. Ann Atwater, a single mother from the poor black part of town, quit her job as a household domestic to join the civil rights fight. During the 1960s, Atwater and Ellis met on opposite sides of the public school integration issue. Their encounters were charged with hatred and suspicion. In an amazing set of transformations, however, each of them came to see how the other had been exploited by the South's rigid power structure.

Historia
Once described by The Washington Post as "the most interesting mayor you've never heard of", Pete Buttigieg, the 36-year-old Democratic mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has improbably emerged as one of the nation's most visionary politicians. First elected in 2011, Buttigieg left a successful business career to move back to his hometown, previously tagged by Newsweek as a "dying city", and transformed it into a shining model of urban reinvention.

Compelling insight into the heart and mind of a very human, very analytical mayor who has answered the call of service with courage and conviction.

Historia
Gabriel Allon, the art restorer, spy, and assassin described as the most compelling fictional creation "since Ian Fleming put down his martini and invented James Bond" ( Rocky Mountain News), is poised to become the chief of Israel's secret intelligence service. But on the eve of his promotion, events conspire to lure him into the field for one final operation. ISIS has detonated a massive bomb in the Marais district of Paris, and a desperate French government wants Gabriel to eliminate the man responsible before he can strike again.

This is a must read for citizens, politicians, and intelligence community
Revisado: 08-21-16
This is Daniel Silvas best work since "An Unlikely Spy". On the one hand, it is a taught, well crafted espionage thriller--its immediacy and realism is stunning. But more importantly, it portrays a more evil, capable and unnerving view of ISIS that has not been described by our press or politicians. I only hope that it is not a foretelling of coming events.
