Historia
When a ghost ship is discovered, its crew presumed dead after trying to reach the storm-shrouded island Akina, Navani Kholin must send an expedition to make sure the island hasn't fallen into enemy hands. Knights Radiant who fly too near find their Stormlight suddenly drained, so the voyage must be by sea. Shipowner Rysn Ftori lost the use of her legs but gained the companionship of Chiri-Chiri, a Stormlight-ingesting winged larkin, a species once thought extinct. Now Rysn's pet is ill, and any hope for Chiri-Chiri’s recovery can be found only at the ancestral home of the larkin.

Historia
In 1541, the brutal conquistador Gonzalo Pizarro and his well-born lieutenant Francisco Orellana set off from Quito in search of La Canela, South America's rumored Land of Cinnamon, and the fabled El Dorado, "the golden man". Driving an enormous retinue of mercenaries, enslaved natives, horses, hunting dogs, and other animals across the Andes, they watched their proud expedition begin to disintegrate even before they descended into the nightmarish jungle, following the course of a powerful river.

Incredible story, told really well
Revisado: 03-13-24
It's amazing what those early explorers did and survived. I really enjoyed this book and what it included. The side notes were pertinent and also told really well, giving great context and closure to some of the people that had a part to play in everything. I quite enjoyed it and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys learning about history and some of the adventures of those that came before us.

Historia
The untold story of Leon Crane, the only surviving crew member of a World War II B-24 crash on a remote mountain near the Arctic Circle, who managed to stay alive 81 days in sub-zero temperature by making peace with nature, and end his ordeal by walking along a river to safety. Part World War II story, part Alaskan adventure story, part survival story, and even part inspirational story, this is what we call " a good listen".

I really enjoyed the book and the experiences shared.
I feel it would have been better to follow a concise time-line. Instead of system in they middle, then goes back and forth a number of times. I still liked it and noted it very much. Recommended if engineering marvels interest you...

Historia
When he first met the man who called himself David Koresh, David Thibodeau was drumming for a rock band that was going nowhere fast. Intrigued and frustrated with a stalled music career, Thibodeau gradually became a follower and moved to the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. He remained there until April 19, 1993, when the compound was stormed and burnt to the ground after a 51-day standoff. In this book, Thibodeau explores why so many people came to believe that Koresh was divinely inspired.

Really good, even though it's not what I expected.
Revisado: 05-27-22
I've been trying to find more information some major events that have occurred in my life in the US, always looking into them retrospectively. I got this book on Waco without reading the very small subtext 'a survivors story'. I expected more of an outsiders review. This was not. It was very eye opening to learn of David's perspective and his incredible journey. Truly saddening the US government's role is the death of so many. And bewildering in how David korech was a pedifile and so many were ok with it.
Incredible story, heart breaking, and eye opening. Over all I enjoyed it and highly recommend it. I hate that it minimized the child sexual abuse and exploitation that occurred.

It is just as easy for her to put the toilet seat up as it is for him to put out down.
If you are both actively working to help each other then a lot of this book is not necessary.
The parts on how men and women think and speak and interpret the actions of others was helpful. Overall good, not required, but good.
