Great succinct story for business
Revisado: 08-21-22
This was a great read for business. I enjoyed the story and the lessons. I’m going to have the rest of my team read it and see how we can be similar to this and “get naked” in our methods moving forward.

Historia
Everyone knows Steve Madden's name and his shoes, but few are familiar with his story. Over the past 30 years, Steve Madden has taken his eponymous shoe company from the fledgling start-up he founded with a mere $1,100 to a global, multibillion-dollar brand. But Madden's mistakes, from his battle with addiction to the financial shortcuts that landed him in prison, are as important to his story as his most iconic shoes. In this raw, intimate, and ultimately inspiring book, Madden holds nothing back as he shares what it took to get here and the lessons he's learned along the way.

Loved the story
Revisado: 07-27-22
This was an in-depth story full of ups and downs. I appreciate how vulnerable and real Steve was as he told his story. I would recommend it to any entrepreneur and enjoyed reading it and learning from his story.

Historia
Paul Van Doren is the founder of Vans - the shoe company beloved by skateboarders, creatives, and fans everywhere for its laid-back, colorful SoCal vibe, and famous for its people-oriented company culture. How did Van Doren establish a family shoe business that evolved into a globally recognized brand with annual revenue of more than four billion dollars? A blue-collar kid with no higher education and zero retail experience, Van Doren leveraged a knack for numbers, a genius for efficiency, and the know-how to make a great canvas tennis shoe into an all-American success story.

Insightful story about the authors whole life
Revisado: 07-12-22
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. At first, when the story started out before Vans began, I didn’t really understand but after hearing the experience and Paul’s problem solving skills at Randy’s, I understood. This is a great read full of entrepreneurial lessons and just a great overall, wholesome story!

Historia
In 2007, a short blogpost by Gawker Media outed PayPal founder and billionaire investor Peter Thiel as gay. Thiel's sexuality had been known to close friends and family, but he didn't consider himself a public figure, and believed the information was private. This post would be the casus belli for a meticulously plotted conspiracy that would end nearly a decade later with a $140 million dollar judgment against Gawker and its bankruptcy. Only later would the world learn that Gawker's demise was not incidental - it had been masterminded by Thiel.

Long explanation
Revisado: 05-23-21
The story overall was good, however, it was very drawn out. The performance of the person reading the book was also a bit robotic.

Historia
Robert Iger became CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, during a difficult time. Competition was more intense than ever, and technology was changing faster than at any time in the company’s history. His vision came down to three clear ideas: Recommit to the concept that quality matters, embrace technology instead of fighting it, and think bigger - think global - and turn Disney into a stronger brand in international markets.

Great and inspiring book
Revisado: 11-13-20
I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to learn from one of the great leaders of one of the most iconic businesses. Bob Iger brings insight, personal experiences and such thoughtfulness throughout this book. I bookmarked multiple pages and have decided this is one of my “top 10 business books” I would recommend to anyone who asks. You won’t be disappointed!

Great book to stay motivated with sales
Revisado: 09-23-18
This was a great book. Ryan added in personal stories and obstacles that everyone can relate to. I liked how he gave tips and “secrets” he implements to help his success. I also bought this book to re-read and take notes because I found it so valuable! I’d highly recommend this book to anyone in business.
