Ramayana Minus the Uttarakanda: Overlooking the Absence of 'Happily Ever After' for Lord Rama and Devi Sita During Their Lifetime

This version of the Ramayana was beautifully written and narrated, but it felt incomplete because it was missing the Final book, the Uttarakanda.

There are many who prefer to have the story of Lord Rama and Devi Sita end with a Happily Ever After ending. If we lived in a perfect world, I can understand that. This version is perfect for those who like a happy ending.

I do not believe that Lord Rama and Devi Sita had a Happily Ever After during their lifetime on earth because the world wouldn't allow them that. I do believe that horrible, narrow-minded people chose to doubt Devi Sita and would continue to do so regardless of what tests she passed to prove her virtue. I do believe that in order to protect her from the maliciousness, Lord Rama sent her to Valmiki's Ashram for her safety as she wouldn't be any safer with her father than with him. Even if it meant being separated from his love, Lord Rama always did what was correct. His comfort and happiness never came first. He did what was best for his kingdom and for his wife, whom he loved with all his heart. He knew that his Sita was a strong woman; she followed him into exile and survived her captivity. She loved him with all her heart and would also do what was best even if it meant being separated from her love.

Two great references to support the existence of the Uttarakanda are:

A wonderful video on YouTube, "Uttara Ramayanam is Real or a Myth? || A research-based documentary film by Project Shivoham," points out that The Bala Kanda's 4th Sarga, 2nd Shloka - twenty-four thousand verses and divided them into five hundred chapters and six books. In addition, he composed the epilogue.

"The Ramayana of Valmiki: The Complete English Translation" from Princeton Library of Asian Translations also points out in The Bala Kanda's 4th Sarga - "It was after Rama had regained his kingdom that the holy and self-controlled seer Valmiki composed this entire history in such wonderful words. When the wise master had completed, including the sections dealing with the future and final events."

Happy Book Birthday!

Weight struggles have been a lifelong challenge. Starting this year at 200 lbs was tough—it left me feeling pretty depressed. Despite trying countless diets and workouts over 20 years, I perpetually regained double the lost weight. I started FLAG on October 12, 2023, at 185.8 lbs, I've now reached 169 lbs. The transformation required a complete reeducation of my food beliefs; no more counting calories or obsessing over portions. Can you believe I'm eating more, real food, moving less, and still shedding weight?

Now, I focus on enjoying real food until I'm full and embracing a dance-centric approach to fitness, rather than fixating on step counts. I have taken a deliberate step by parting with my smartwatch, choosing to distance myself from technology-driven cues. Instead, I prioritize attuning to my body's signals and responses.

Non-fasting weeks are challenging for me, but those 24 to 72-hour fasts, while tuning into what my body needs, do work wonders. The results are amazing: no more acid reflux, lost inches, and glowing skin. A year ago, I was researching walkers due to pain, but now, movement comes significantly more effortlessly. Despite the journey ahead, I am confident that this lifestyle shift resonates perfectly with my needs.

I am eagerly looking forward to the cookbook and the additional insightful tips concerning how certain foods influence our bodies. Recognizing the connection between what, when, and how we consume our food can significantly aid us in achieving our objectives.

Wishing you all the best for 2024! Warm regards, Annie

Brylee and Shaun made mistakes years ago. Brylee's mother meddled which made matters worse.
I had no idea how these two would be able to recover. Shanna wrote a wonderful story dealing with growth, love and forgiveness. Anyone can change if they want to and are given to opportunity to.

Luke Andreen did a wonderful job bringing the character's to life. I hope that Shanna and Luke collaborate on future audiobooks.

Although An Amish Mail-Order Bride is a three book series, I chose to only read Love in Plain Sight. Katharine immediately caught my attention due to her weight and acne.

The romance genre, which are mostly written by women for women, have leading characters which are gorgeous with perfect bodies and the villains are ugly, etc. I often find myself rolling my eyes. Kathleen Fuller chose to be more realistic. Thank goodness.

There were two stories being told in this book, Katharine and Ezra and the disgraced, former Bishop Emmanuel and his family. The main story about Katharine and Ezra was what held my attention.

There were a few things that stood out to me...

1) When Katharine needed help, she was presented with it in many unexpected ways, she just had to be receptive of it.
2) I found it fascinating how the author used various characters in the story to act as God's messengers.
3) While many chose to mock Katharine, many others saw past her self-perceived flaws to her true beauty.
4) The villain in this story was charming and ingratiating when he chose to be. He had everyone fooled including his best friend.
5) At first, I was furious with his best friend. It was very interesting to watch his growth in this story.

Love in Plain Sight was incredibly realistic and imparted very important lessons without being preachy, which I appreaciated.

I listened to the audible version of this publication which was narrated by Lauren Berst. I hope that the author and narrator collaborate again in the future. Lauren did a much better job of bringing the characters to life than the other narrators used for the author's Audible publications.

My heart ached for both Greta and Noah as this story unfolded. Both of them were wounded by the words of others.
I really wished that mandatory education could be imparted at an early age, that words are powerful and need to be used carefully.

It was quite a journey, made in a matter of weeks, that allowed both Greta and Noah to reeducate eachother and start healing together.

I appreciate that there was no unnecessary angst in this story. The author opted for a story filled with
love and compassion which made for a touching tale.

I truly enjoyed the narrator, Jaimee Draper. I hope that there are many more collaborations between this author and narrator.

Susan and Joseph’s story dealt with victim blaming and shaming. It also dealt with prejudice.

Missouri's attitude towards her sister was appalling and Susan's choice
to be less than truthful in her confession was infuriating.

While Susan and Joseph's story needed to be told, it was my least favorite in the series.

The love story between Jessamine and Bethesda confused me.
Almost immediately, Bethesda assumed that a letter that Jessamine had was correspondence between her and a man? His bias was never explained. Even after they had shared a kiss, he believed that she was writing to men. While believing that she was devious, he purchased her a gift and was dreaming of a future with her?! Jessamine went from kissing Bethesda, to ignoring him, to pining for him?! I was truly baffled about these two for most of the story.

The suffragette portion of the story and revisiting the Morgan's were what held
my interest.

Those of us living in a first world country, can often forget the battles women
had to fight so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. Freedoms that women
around the world are still fighting for....

The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the charaters to life.
