Rinse and repeat
Revisado: 09-05-24
Russell really needs to come up with a better storyline. After listening to Jet 6 and 7 in succession, well lets just say, they might as well have been one book stretched out. How many pathological assassins can you send after these people. This will be my last listen in this series. I don't want to waste any more credits to hear the same story told in some slightly modified way. Braden Wright's narration is ok but his female characters all sound the same, and when you listen to 2 books in a row you sometimes forget who the character is.

I read several of Chris’s books and this by far the least believable. Get it if it’s on special but don’t waste a credit.

First one was better
Revisado: 01-31-23
Bit of a shame really. The characters are fairly strong but the overall story has been done to death by other authors. I was hoping for a bit more intrigue and insight inspired by Mr. Gingrich. Don’t think I’ll be buying the next one.

A little disappointed.
Revisado: 02-16-22
The story was interesting and quite likely a little exciting in places. David Thorpe’s narration was excellent as usual. The voice characters of the rest of the actors was mediocre at best. One of the biggest problems was the volume balance. Some whispered conversations were very hard to hear, so you turn up the volume only to have David come back on and blast your ears. I guess I’m glad this was a free inclusion on my membership, I would not have been happy to have paid too much for it.

Great story, a lot of characters to follow
Revisado: 02-02-22
Great story. A slant on the Philadelphia experiment and Philip K Dick's Man in the high castle with some interesting consequences. There is a lot to take in in the early part of the book, with a lot of characters to follow, and it gets a bit hard to remember which time each character comes from. Jay Snyder's Aussie accent is terrible, but his voice characters are good. He has a way to individualise a lot of different characters so you know who is speaking. All in all a good story and I will be reading on to see how the future unfolds.

Historia
On Zero Day of the first and last cyberwar in human history, the internet went dark, transport and power grids collapsed and cities began to starve, showing just how vulnerable the world could be to a targeted campaign of online sabotage. This final installment of this prescient epic of civilisation collapse finds the small ragtag band of survivors come together to face a new, but eerily familiar threat - the rise of a fascist militia among the ruins of a failing country.

One of the best post apocalyptic books ever
Revisado: 12-14-21
I’ve listened to A LOT of post apocalyptic books over the last few years and this one of the best ever for me. Based on a frighteningly real scenario, with very real characters. Woven together artfully. This was one of the stories I wanted to keep reading I felt so connected to the characters. I will be searching out more John Birmingham books in the future. Beautifully narrated by Rupert Degas

Historia
Every modern city has one week’s worth of food to feed itself. Then it will collapse. Cut off the resources to New York, Sydney, or even a mid-size metropolis, and millions will soon starve. In Zero Day Code we see those immense and open, hyper-complex, networked supercities of the new millennium die. And in the last moments we see their vengeance take form as all the best and worst traits of humanity bubble to the surface.

Terrifyingly real scenario
Revisado: 12-08-21
Wow what a story. I’m starting my prepping as of today. This scenario is so real it makes me nervous, especially as tensions build around the world on the top of the pandemic. Rupert Degas’s reading of this is one of the best performances I’ve ever heard. He should the number 1 pick for any writer right up there with RC Bray and Scott Bric. So nice to hear an Aussie accent that sounds like an Aussie get em Damo. Thanks John I’m downloading part 2 Now.

It is really great to listen to a self narration of the author’s book. Brian’s true passion for his quest is awesome. I learned so many truths that I had always suspected being brought to focus and vindication. Thanks to Joe Rohan for introducing me to Brian and the realisation of his book. Really great stuff. The ultimate 2000 year old conspiracy.
