If you slept through your college course than this is a must read. Dr. Klavan writes in an easy to read and understand format as he reviews the writings of the ancient philosophers. This is not a dusty, dry, old history. He shows that there is nothing new under the sun and we've seen the current level of debauchery many times. He shows how humanity picked itself out of the mire, cleaned itself off and started all over again. This is a very positive and hopeful book that everyone should read. He gives advice that is so simple to follow to restore our beloved Republic. Put down your device, go outside and say hello to your neighbor. Go to your county council meetings. I got through this in one weekend because it is fascinating. I'll be buying the hard cover now so I can read it again and take notes. I love this book. Thank you Dr. Klavan for writing it.
