Love the Earthly adventures
Revisado: 12-12-22
The transition to Earth, and its integration of the dangerous multi-dimensional assault from the first three books, brings welcome new story lines to the original adventure.
Jason's family and friends help humanize the fantasy. it's all more personal and satisfying.

Not for me. Mediocre prose and annoying narration.
Revisado: 09-23-22
I love this series and have opened el walleto for all of the main series and up to now all of the co author semi-fanfiction offshoots.
This one is below par in prose, pacing, and most of all narration. I won't return it out of gratitude and respect for what came before, but I won't pursue anything by this coauthor or narrator.

Historia
My name is Sawyer William Vincent - I know, it sounds like three first names - but most people know me as the Red Raptor. Well, technically no one knows I'm the Red Raptor, he's just a bit more popular. Wow. Enough about my name. Let me start over. I’m a superhero - the legendary Black Harrier’s partner. Not sidekick. I don't care if I'm still in high school. We work together to bring down the city's most dangerous villains. When the Black Harrier gets a mysterious note, then goes missing in New York City, things are pretty much left up to me. But don’t worry...I’ve got this.

The first book was an excellent coming of age. In this sequel all promises are kept.
Insightful regarding purpose, power, and devotion. All things we say and nod too. Here is an explorer's map to the rivers and mountains of the terrain.

Revisado: 12-14-20
Ready player 2. A lot to live up to. Some reviews have expressed disappointment for various reasons. I was a bit wary as a result.
After finishing, I am completely satisfied. If it were combined with the first book, and was released as one long ass book, it would be amazing. Is it as good as the first. Yes. I loved it just as much.

Historia
In Mindfulness, Bliss, and Beyond, self-described meditation junkie Ajahn Brahm shares his knowledge and experience of the jhanas - a core part of the Buddha's original meditation teaching. Never before has this material been approached in such an empowering way, by a teacher of such authority and popularity. Full of surprises, delightfully goofy humor, and entertaining stories that inspire, instruct, and illuminate, Mindfulness, Bliss, and Beyond will encourage those new to meditation, and give a shot in the arm to more experienced practitioners as well.

Review for serious students and teachers
Revisado: 12-02-20
The author summorizes insight from his readings.
Clearly he has read deeply into the middle way literature. He presents as though he were experiencing, or has experienced what he has read about.
Instead, I would suggest that this is an academic novel of meditative experience.
Working teachers see this phenomenon where a student embraces the fancy of meditation, but doesn't put in the time meditating. This is that.
As a result, while it may encourage a student initially, it doesn't explain how exactly to meditate, or what exactly to expect. It's like someone who never tasted peanut butter, but read all about it wrote a book of poetry about the amazing taste of peanut butter.
Please read "The Mind Illuminated" or "The Science of Enlightenment" available here on Audible by searching those titles. These were written by teachers who put in the work.
In addition to the above there is a library of excellent explanations of meditation, including tutorials, among the various writings of the Dali Lama also available here on Audible. They are harder to filter through as they are so varied and aren't always titled in an intuitive manner.
Bless this author for any he has helped to become interested.

Historia
The decline and fall of Rudy Giuliani, from “America’s Mayor” to public spectacle, has all the makings of a modern Shakespearean tragedy. Those who know Giuliani, whose tough leadership and even tougher politics helped revitalize New York City in the 1990s and lead the country through 9/11, have stood by and watched with incredulity as he put himself at the heart of impeachment charges against the President.

A well researched and insightful reveal
Revisado: 11-15-20
I'm an American Independent and have been careful to avoid the propoganda traps from the media mouthpieces of both major parties.
It's a mistake to dismiss this essay. Wolf has been granted access because he is credible. He is credible because he has an established history of journalistic integrity.
This story of a talented man gradually corrupted by power and circumstances is nothing new. But it's new to us to be able to see below the manufactured persona of a living icon.
No matter which party you favor, the facts are on full public display. This cautionary tale is not so much a partisan 'hit job' as it is a hard pill.
Recommended.

This collection shows a vibrant young writer with a wide-ranging imagination, ferocious creative energy, devastating wit, and an eye for the wonderful and terrifying and tragic. Among the gems are "All the Sounds of Fear", "The Sky Is Burning", "The Very Last Day of a Good Woman", and "In Lonely Lands". Though they stand tall on their own merits, they also point the way to the sublime stories that followed soon after and continue to come even now, more than 50 years later.

This is Harlan's half assedly produced memoir.
Revisado: 10-31-20
I never thought it was possible to have a 1 star overall, and at the same time 5 star for performance and 5 star for story. Whoo fjkg hoo!!
If you are an intelligent person who prizes your intelligence and have felt bullied for being smart then Harlan's memoir welcomes you.
If you spent credits for the stories: psyk!
The stories are awesome, but you can get them elsewhere.
This is the "What I Know" message to all and and a special fu to idiots in his industry: readers writers publishers. More importantly it's a what "I Think" about writing, stepping up, giving, and taking. If you live by taking you may find this read... uncomfortable.
His wisdom is right there in his written works. He naturally pops off as a wit, delivering the hard messages with a tasty shell.
This is separate. His welcome to you lonely smart mates, his thumbs up to loyalty and friendship, and his moon to the bastards.
