Its not terrible but not really worth it

I pretty much only read this because I had finished the first book(with around the same reaction) and I had a dentist appointment in 15 mins so I needed something to listen too. The story is probably one of the best parts of the book is the worldbuilding. The world itself is decently large and fairly detailed and the different life in the kingdoms and towns in interesting but just not enough. The plot is where this book gets iffy, from the first book it felt like maybe it would go somewhere but the author basically just drew out the whole book in an attempt to get the characters to a higher level. But by far the worst part is the characters, there are some likable characters and sometimes the main characters do something smart but seriously, almost every single main character is either ungodly stupid (*cough* *cough* Armon) or is content to sit in the background randomly correcting his mistakes to move the plot forward. And of course, I can't forget about the massive number of references and unnecessary jokes the author adds seemingly just because he can. They make the whole book feel clunky and make you lose and feelings for the main characters because they make the whole book seem like a joke...which it is. Overall I appreciate the effort the author put into the book and really do see potential in the storyline and world, but the main characters just ruined the whole book for me.

What made the experience of listening to Love's Miracles the most enjoyable?

I loved the story and the narrator's voice was very soothing. Perfect for the car!
