As a disabled person from a downhill skiing accident in 1990 in an "interabled" relationship, I related to so many situations. Ty Ty Ty! I clearly remember while taking a "walk" during one of my many hospital stays crying sitting in my wheelchair in a hospital gown outside an ice-cream shop down by the University of MN Hospital while everyone else went inside because the shop wasn't accessible. Yes they did bring me out some (my family isn't mean...lol)! However, I wanted to see the choices! I also can totally relate to flying. My scooter or wheelchair comes back to me with some damage every time airport personnel carry it up and down by the gate. Also, I have a disability which I can often hide; Therefore, I have endured talking behind my back and rude questioning by relatives. Hidden disability is a whole topic alone! Dealing with a disability isn't always easy. However for many, including my husband and myself, it's our normal. It's other people who it's abnormal for. I do feel very blessed by how my husband deals with it being our normal. Although, I believe it's how any loving couple should deal with each other's needs. I truly enjoyed this book. Thank you for sharing so much of your life.

Great book! Recommend reading her first book first.

Her books are both educational and riveting. I definitely think it is best to read her books in order.

Would you try another book from Fredrik Backman and/or George Newbern?
Giving up after Chapter 11! A friend told me it picks up at the end, but too late to compensate! I would not waste my time!
What could Fredrik Backman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
It needs grabbers sooner in the story. I got into Chapter 11 and decided it was not worth wasting anymore of my time on. I found it to be just very boring. I tried to stick with it, but when I got to Chapter 11, I decided it was not worth my time! Curiosity may get me, as to why it has the good ratings it does; However, I have no curiosity as to story content.
How could the performance have been better?
I found it very boring! Could be the audio book reader that left me feeling bored. I am not sure if it is the book or reader, as I only listened to audio book. I did not buy the companion book. It may have helped to follow along in book, but I did not feel like paying $11 or so more for a book that I wasn't enjoying and literally was putting me to sleep! Digital book is way over priced.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from A Man Called Ove?
Rewrite chapters 1-11!
Any additional comments?
Wish I would not have wasted a credit on this book!
