Don’t get me wrong but....

I love all 8 of these books so far but the thing that is really bothering me is that the length of this book on audibles is 9 hours. Once I download the book it only a estimated 5 1/2 hour listen. It’s the same with 1-7. I feel ripped off.

Wondering if it’s just me.

Charley is witty and fun loving. I love the dynamics of all her relationships. The story is unfolding not to fast or slow but just right. I just wish I could get what the description says.

The worst book ever

I have read a lot of the books by them. But, this was by far the worst. The storyline made no since from beginning to end. The story line Unbelievably and unthought out. No relationships formed when ppl were crossed I felt nothing. No attachments at all. I’m glad it was free.

Poorly written and read

This has got to be a first draft. It reads as if no one proof read this book. It has too many contradictions like 2 different people wrote the book with no communication. The narrator was horrible. She added emotion where emotion didn't need to be. She used inflection when it was not needed. I hated the way she broke up the sentences instead of reading straight through.
I don't understand why this book got so many 4 stars. There was nothing I like except that it was not tat long.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the book had some periods here and there. It was like she never took a breath. The story was all over the place.

What do you think your next listen will be?

How could the performance have been better?

If she would have read the book with some emotion and at least gave some notice that the chapter had changed or the conversations had moved on. I got so lost.

Very Immature Characters

Would you try another book from Brenda K. Davies and/or Tavia Gilbert?

Not sure But I do know I will not be finishing the rest of these book. I think if Sara was a stronger character and not so whiny all the time It would have been ok. The story line was good. It had potential.

What was most disappointing about Brenda K. Davies’s story?

Sara was a insecure brat. Her best room mate was too possessive for me.

Yes if the narrator had not been changed. I really enjoyed the 1st book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not sure but it will not be anything read by Kim Johnson. I have returned all books I got read by her.

What didn’t you like about Kim Johnson’s performance?

She's boring and makes it really hard to stay interested even if it is a good book. You can't go from Nicole Small whom I love to K. Johnson.

Disappointed I couldn't get past the first chapter.

Please have Nicole Small redo this one. I would love to finish the story.

What would have made Drantos better?

If Dusty and her older sister were not so irritating. They just wined too much and complained too much. They made me dislike them.

What was most disappointing about Laurann Dohner’s story?

The sister's weakness and there ability to over react over everything. They were too mouthy.

What would have made Purple City, Volumes 1-3 better?

A new narrator!!!!

What was most disappointing about K’wan’s story?

The narrator. I could not even get into the story. She was horrible. No depth,no emphasis on the words. Some parts she sounded like a 7th grader.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

There were parts I just missed she didn't even hold my attention.

What character would you cut from Purple City, Volumes 1-3?

I would cut everybody. I couldn't even get a feel for anybody.

Please don't use her again. Where was Cary Hite or Honey Jones even Shari Peele she was ok.

The Narrator was HORRIBLE !!

What disappointed you about The Orphans?

The narrator. I would love to listen to more from Mike Evans but he uses this same narrator a lot!

What could Mike Evans have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have someone else with more personality less emotion reading. I liked his voices for each character but his regular voice was to excited throughout the book. He made it hard to take the story serious. I could not get into it at all

What character would you cut from The Orphans?

Not sure I couldn't get to know any of them well enough because I didn't feel like the narrator was representing the characters as they were suppose to be.

There was some emotional parts but they were lost on me because of the yes you guessed it "Narrator".

I wish he could have them reread.

It seemed like it's a good story but I could not focus on listening.
