Sorry... Really? Thrust? Anyway, Danny Kendrick was a down-on-his luck performer who always struggled to find his place. He certainly never wanted to be a hero. He just hoped to earn a living doing what he loved. That all changes when he pisses off the wrong guy and gets sucked into a fantasy realm straight out of a Renaissance Fair. Getting used to a new world is tough. It's even tougher when you're surrounded by axe-wielding barbarians, super hot elf assassins, strange magic, and a jaded System that doesn't appear interested in being charged with yet another companion.

Bad story, great production

First off, the audio narrators do an amazing job! I really enjoyed the lute soundtrack that played along at various times! Sadly, the story is just boring. Does the MC have to use his intelligence or some other means to overcome adversity, nope. Does the MC grow as a charter though the struggles, nope. Does the MC react in any sensible manner when finding themselves in a strange new world (or, main focus being on how to get home)? Nope. Also, the fact they took the time to inform us that all the elves think the MC is "hot" was an ick moment. was hoping this would be as enjoyable as DCC, but its a no from me.

I saw this was being turned into a TV show, and the promo gave off Dexter or You kind of vibes if a smart female.serial killer gets revenge on those who wronged her.... nope. We get a insanely unlikable main charter who's best murder plan is don't wear Velcro?! Really? Somehow she's manages to pull money from an ATM without being spotted by a camera, or being seen on any of the CCTV's London is basically known for at this point. Protagonist started off funny at the start, but just turns into a whining fest stating who she wants to kill at the start of each chapter. The voice actor was fine, just really disappointed with the lack of the intelligence shown by the MC and any of the suspense in the story.

The story jumps around way to much, and it's very hard to follow. Also, what's the point of making up day names (which is just crazy confusing), but still use things like apples and avocados. Lastly, the story only really became compelling in the last chapter.

Loved the rest of the series, but this one should have been a pass for me. Passing was all over the place. Felt like 90% of this book is just Joe and Wonder bickering at each other. Voice actor does his best with the story, but it's just not exciting.

I'm a sucker for time travel stories, but this isn't really a book about that. 90% of this book is just about the main character being depressed. I listened to the entire book, which took a lot of effort, and don't feel like any really happened in the entire story. I could sum up the entire progress of the story in less than a paragraph. Narrator was fine, just a boring story.

I love this series, but I didn't love this book. I listen to this series for Joe and Skippy, and this book has both as a cameo role at best. I feel like this book should be 5.5 as it doesn't really move the story forward. RC Bray as always, crushes the voice work. The man could read a cereal box and make it sound good.
